this line from "sinner's swing" popped into my head this morning on my way to work.

i never thought i'd consider anything DLR said to be prophetic - he's usually just funny or stupid. in this case, though, he may have been just a little bit prophetic.

seems like the past few years have been just that - a waste of time.
all the makeup/reunion rumors, all the anticipation, all of the cold shoulder from the band's PR - stick a fork in it. [img]smilies/mad.gif[/img] [img]smilies/sleep.gif[/img]

I agree with this, and this is why this whole reunion probably SHOULD be over. If both sides truly wanted to work together, and believed that they could still make great music, and could get along long enough to not kill each other, something would have been worked out by now. They're clearly not on the same page, and really, why should we expect them to be?

Sure there was friction in the early days of the band, but I think that they were still on the same page then. They haven't been like that in a long time, and it's quite likely that they never will be again.

In my opinion, the only thing that saves this reunion now is money, and that's reason enough to pull the plug.

the reunion is more than likely not a reality.......however, van halen WILL continue in some another form and i will be there the whole way. lets go and get it on

I think just about every band on this planet that has broken up has reformed at some stage, whether it be for money or love of the music. Just about every band except Van Halen.

I guess we will probably have to wait till Dave's shows to find out what the hell has been going on.

My opinion is that any future recordings from 5150 will be called 'Edward & Alex Van Halen'.

I think the reunion is on hold for various reasons, most of which is Ed's health. He cant be physically able to tour .........

A two hour live show 3 times a week under those lights? [img]smilies/eek.gif[/img] The only time I was ever onstage was in a high school gym and it was HOT, I can't even imagine what it would be like on an arena stage with that amount of lighting. No way does Ed appear to be in the right condition to handle that physical strain.
