Given the following parameters, what do you think the set list on the next tour will be:
* that Dave is back
* that they will play lets say, 10 new numbers live
* that they play a "normal" show that has around 20 numbers in the main set and an encore of 2 numbers
This is my list:
1) Unchained
2) Running with the Devil
3) Ain't Talking 'Bout Love
4) Jaimie's Cryin'
5) Feel Your Love Tonight
6) Dance the Night Away
7) Beautiful Girls
8) And the Cradle Will Rock
9) Everybody Want's Some
10) Mean Streets
11 - 20) New Songs
Encore
21) Jump
22) Panama
Notice this doesn't leave room for numbers that we would really want to see like:
Romeo Delight
You Really Got Me
I'm The One
Pretty Woman
Little Guitars
Hot For Teacher
I'll Wait
Can't Get This Stuff No More
Me Wise Magic
With such limited room, and given the appearance that the band will have to be cutting numbers that alot of us would want to hear, how can we really be worried about sticking Sammy songs or DLR solo tunes in?

Sounds OK, but there is no way they will play 10 new songs live. Maybe 5 at best. Plus you have GOT to throw in hot for teacher and little guitars and several of the others to replace the 5 new ones they WON'T be playing. Who knows, Dave might get his way and slip in Yankee Rose or something.

I don't think they'll do Can't Get This Stuff No More or Me Wise Magic.

Why not? CGTSNM and MWM are killer songs two of my favourite Dave era songs, and piss all over anything they did with Cherone, and they would kick ass live. And they would seem like an extra two new songs as they have`nt been played live before.

I agree that they won't be playing 10 new songs, but they'll certainly play 5 or 6. And I may be all alone on this, but I could do without You Really Got Me or Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love. I know that they will almost surely play ATBL, and I love it, but I could think of many songs I'd rather see in the setlist than it. It's WAY overdone in my opinion.
And while I think they will likely go back to the You Really Got Me/Happy Trails ending, I hope they don't. Again, it's cool, but it's been done.

Being a Stones disciple as well as being obsessed about VH, I can tell ya that the Stones have been alternating cuts live since they put it back together in '89. Usually 4 or 5 songs swap from night to night, with 1 being Keith's. Probably done to keep the setlist fresh for the band and to keep the fans guessing! Can you think of a better reason to buy tix for multiple shows if there's the slimmest chance you'll see the one chestnut that makes your hair stand on end AND brings a tear to your eye?? I think as the tour progresses, and you know it will because it'll be a huge success, some cuts may fall out to be replaced by newer/other tunes, which follows much the same routine as the Stones. I just hope the first gig is in the Midwest so I can be at Show #1!!!!
And I wanna bring all of ya along too!
I really think this is just the calm before the VH Storm, cuz if it wasn't happening, we'd definitely know it, and would've heard it straight from DLR and EVH/AVH.
No news HAS to be good news considering the jabs in the press the last 17 years.
PS...Don't forget to Rock'n'Roll, Baby!!!
