Dave hasn't talked to Van Halen in 18 months and he's currently recording with them. Meanwhile Mike has chosen this time to record a solo album with Hagar because obviously the 3 previous years of VH inactivity wasn't a good time to do it.

I think Dave and Mike have just put in their entries for Van Halen's "Let's see who can confuse the fans the most" Xmas competition...or maybe Mike is as clueless as us and is trying to get a response out of Eddie....or Dave actually announced the reunion in his radio interview but no one actually understood anything he said.
