Same here. Got an email this morning from an ebayer selling a frankenstein striped body who had the auction cancelled due to "copyright infringement".

Gibson, Fender, and a ton of other trademark holders do the very same thing on Ebay, why is this any different?

someone already bought the fender or gibson or kramer or whatever. the guitar company has gotten their money. someone wants to sell their guitar for whatever reason, who cares. it's not tlike there's tons of these out there to put these guys outta business or hurt their wallet in the least

um no not really, I can sell all the strat bodies, gibson bodies etc etc that I want,
what you can't do is sell a body and call it a strat type, hence use the word strat in the description if it is not a strat, no one that I know of goes after four sticky backed numbers.

right, misrepresentation. they are saying that since EVH owns the trademark on the stipes, it's an unauthorized product, not eligible for sale on Ebay.

there was a local shop making/selling fake Les Pauls, way back before Ebay and the Net even existed, and they got the same kind of treatment. actually, he got it worse, it was a full-blown court case, no nice cease and desist letter.
