Hey everyone. I am going to be interviewing Gary Cherone in the near future and wanted to work in as many fan questions, VH related or non VH related as I can. I run a Philly based online music magazine, http://wwww.empyrelounge.com , and will be talking with him mostly about his new disc coming out with Tribe of Judah. Send any questions to cherone@empyrelounge.com and check out the site, we have a bunch of pictures from when Sammy & Dave were in Camden, NJ.

    Please bring back the Halen

How many of his songs that he has put out since he left van halen were work in progress while he was with van halen. There is some things I've heard that would have gone well on III or the next album.

How about asking him the following

When did he last speak to Eddie?
When did he last speak to Alex?
    Are they in good health?
Does he know anything about the current VH situation?
    Why did he leave VH?
Was he kicked out of VH to give Dave another shot?
Did WBR want Dave back in VH?
Are members of VH being gagged by lawyers?
Is Ray Daniels still involved with VH?
Has he heard any VH rumours?
Did he get to hear any cool unreleased VH stuff during his time in the band?

Oh and perhaps ask him something about his new band

    1) who was responsible for the VH3 westernstyle-artwork??

    2) did they ever consider not using the band name Van Halen for their 'side-project'?

    3) which boy/girl-band should cover "more than words"?

4)any stories about the extreme/vh manager?

    5) will he tour europe with his new band?

    cheers,

    SToRM
dave, we'd like to go upstairs, the two of us, with you ...

    Here ya go...

What were the post VH III recordings like? How much was written/recorded? What did they sound like? Did this material stand up better in his opinion than the material released on III?

What was the musical direction Van Halen was heading in following III and the tour?

From a musical growth perspective what did Gary come away with as a result of his VH adventure? How did this experience change his approach to producing the TOJ material?

Being back-stage and on-stage in Boston on the Sam & Dave stop did it feel like there were Van Halen ghosts from all of the past eras lurking in the eves?

What are Gary's thoughts and feelings regarding Ray Danials as a manager and what transpired from the leaving of Extreme to joining VH and subsequent departing ways with VH? Can he shed any light on Ray's involvement/role in all this...?

Would Gary be willing to join with all of us tormented, starving Van Halen fans to help us lure Ed and Al out of their hermit caves and make a little noise for us all?

How about during some down time Gary comes on-line on one of the Van Halen forums and chats with us? Would he be interested or do we scare the heck outta him?

Has Gary ever visited any of the Van Halen official or fan based internet sites/ bulletin boards and read the discussions we have?

Final question... Ask Gary to pass on a message from all of us die-hard fans to Ed & Al:

Dear Ed and Al, on any given weekday, when you're not on the golf course or waxing the cars... while the kids are in school and it's quiet around the house... you two get out to the tape vault in 5150. Dig up 12 songs. Three from the original era, 3 from Sam era, 3 from the Gary era and just 3 wide open jams. No need to gussy em up or anything fancy... just post em as downloads on the offical site or release em on your own label or some independent label... it don't matter. Many a fan would appreciate the small effort this would require and probably be wetting all over ourselves like puppies!! Take care and stay in touch!! All our best!!!

    Sincerely,

    The Fans.
Woke up this mornin, got Blue Moon in your eyes...

If I could I would...I may be interviewing Sammy as well with the release of his disc coming up. Its actually pretty good, I am listening to it now. The only "bad" song on it is his tribute to Led Zepplin, just pretty cheesy to borrow exact music and lines from Zep songs and put them into one. Something tells me I have a better chance of seeing God than talking with Ed, Alex, or Dave in the near future.

-if he has spoken to Ed recently
-if Mike has really pushed for a Sammy reunion
-if he would consider calling Ed first
-what the status of Planet US is
    -anything you can think of...

    Questions I would like to see Gary asked;

    1. What happened to the "Benefits of a Short Term Memory" album title? I thought that was a great title personally.

    2. Need I Say More is great, is there any chance of it being released officially, on a single perhaps? I think I read that it wasn't really a Judah track, but I was still disappointed to not see it on the Exit Elvis track list.

    3. I've heard that there are quite a few finished Extreme tracks from their entire career, any chance of an album of these songs being released?

Ask him if he ever asked Dave about the "vagina monalogue" remark he made during the Sam and Dave press conference. Gary did an interview with Eddie Trunk and Gary brought it up himself and said he didnt know what Dave meant by that remark and that he would have to ask Dave about it. I had also read that he was backstage at a Sam/Dave show so i know he had the opportunity.
