The singer for the "Hooters" once was quoted in an interview as saying,"Writing good rock tunes is pretty easy.It's trying to find some idea for a song that the Beatles have'nt already done yet, thats the hard part."

Or something to that effect.
Heaven is getting a pretty righteous collection of musicians.

The Beatles are THE group that every rock and roll group has to measure itself up to, and many go back to pumping gas.

Music may have changed considerably since the glory days of The Beatles reign, but this is a group that is timeless and will always be relavent.

Thank you George for all the great music you contributed to the single most infuencial rock and roll band that ever existed: The Beatles.

Another opportunity for the Van Halens to see how fleeting life can be...think they'll take it?

So sad.

BTW, George, what did you mean when you sang "Beware of Maya"? She doesn't seem all that dangerous!?!

And you know, twice news reports broke that George Harrison was near death and every time his people denied them.

I don't personally care for the Beatles, but you'll be missed.

My heart is broken...

George was always my favorite. When I was a kid my buds and I would watch the Beatles cartoons and listen to the records. We would lip-sync and play air-guitar...I was always George.

I always thought he was the most underated guitarist. When you think of the greats, you naturally think of Van Halen, Page, Hendrix, Clapton. But IMO Harrison should be there as well. He laid down some fantastic solo's and when you listen to the Anthology and Live at the BBC you can really hear how good he was. He also helped design and mold that incredible Beatle sound. Even to this day, his sound on Cloud Nine, The Traveling Wilbury's and the 2 reunion songs off Anthology, his guitar sound is very recognizable and unique.

I was getting my daughter ready for school this morning when I received a phone call of the news that George had passed. My daughter saw that I was upset and asked me if her Grandpa had died. I told her " No. Just one of my heros has died..." [img]graemlins/cry.gif[/img]

Harrison was a beautiful human being on top of an excellent musician and guitarist. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Strangley enough, I was listening to early Beatles on my way home from work last night. Little did I know.....
