Yes indeed Top. I'm lucky in the fact that I can do that for any occasion. But when VH puts out a new album I'm always holed up listening to that bad boy for hours. Well there was one exception, but I'll shut up now.

What's everyone's take on Napster when it comes to the new VH album?

When Sammy's Ten13 came out I'd heard it off of Napster weeks in advance, as I'm sure most of us did. But with VH, part of me will want to wait until I've got the whole CD package in my hands to hear the new album. But then again if it's on Napster, the pull to download it will be great, especially with others on here talking about the new tunes.

absolutely, my three other brothers and i took a week and a half off work to see van halen play in australia.

it is always a buzz taking the day off, with others if avaliable as in my case, sit down with drink of choice in hand, and play the disc with underscribable anticipation. you smile when you here that certain thing...a certain drum beat, guitar solo or particalur chord or note. you cring when you here something you don't like...this hasn't happened to me yet, including three....and when it is all over, the replay button has downward pressure applied to it almost instantaneously with the disc finishing.

with the first rotation of the disc there is complete silence, with the exception of a little burst of "fuckin' great" amongst listeners. with the second play, moments been played out on the stereo system are quickly discussed, and then to listening mode again. the third listen, the tension you have built up over the last three/four years of no van halen has completely deminished and you are just laying back and enjoying the ride. drinks continue to flow and the disc is easily on it's seventh rotation. the album is openly discussed and there is very little breaks in the postmortem of the most recent release from van halen, with the exception of when everyone stops discussion as it is known a really good piece of music is just about to happen...and when it happens, everyone is in awe of the mechanics of what just went down.

at the tenth listen, and after the consumption of a pretty impressive amount of liquor, it is imperative that the entire back catelog of van halen is played with each album on rotation been discussed and most songs been sung in that terrible 'i can't sing when i am sober and i certainly can't sing when i'm drunk' voice. but you don't give a rat's arse and sooner than later, all are involved in the drunken verse of van halen. at the end of the entire and absolute catelog of van halen has been played......it is time to leave before the dangerously fatal levels of liquor consumed throughout the day's events takes complete control and you start hugging each other and wives/girlfriend/parents start wondering if this little obsession with van halen is going just a little too far.

man......this is going to be great.... i will probably have two days off!!!!!!

Well I'll take a few days off from school for Van Halen!!! I'm not sure if I'll be working then but I'd definitely take off a couple of days or so to see them live the first time ever and another day to get their album!!!

I was plannin' this particular sickday from about this time last year! Damn right my neighbours are gonna be so sick of this new record by the time I'm through!

... ironically, I'll be headin' to work early for the next week or so too. Why? So I can listen to the album again on my walkman as I walk to work (instead of bikin')
