Is Dave Being Sued Again?

I was watching Howard Stern on E! when I caught the line on that annoying news headlines banner that Dave was being sued by a former guitarist for not paying a retainer for a music video shoot. I haven't seen it anywhere else including the E! website. Did anyone else see the news piece?

Hopefully, it was not true but, if it is, those other lawsuits and recurring rumors about Dave's finance problems are starting to appear awfully true.

One thing is fo sho - Dave's not hurting financially. The summer tour raked in major bux.

What is major bucks to you and me is not major bucks to guys like Roth. These guys can be in financial trouble 'big time' even if they pull in a couple million a year. I think I heard Dave and Sammy made around 50,000 per show + part of tix. I don't know if that is right but let's assume it is close, so let's call it 60,000 per show.

Tax takes half 30,000 per show. They played about 36 shows. That brings us to a little over a million for the tour. Who pays for travel, stage, sound, lights, promo, the band? Mr. Roth. He may of cleared 500,000 for the tour if he was lucky. I suspect Roth requires close to $20,000-$30,000 a month to maintain his lifestyle (i.e. pay short people and triplets to hang out with him). Without going into any further speculative accounting it is very easy for someone like Roth to be broke.

There are many broke 'rich people'. I don't know if Roth is but I'm sure he hasn't made much money over the last 5 years or so. If he is still doing blow he could be spending 10 grand or more a month on that alone.

Reminds me in college 12 years ago telling people that Mike Tyson would be broke someday. I had trouble defending that while he was making 50 million a fight and making all that money from his video games. Sure enough the man was broke 2 or 3 years later.

I don't think Roth is in the poor house but he may not be in any position to be paying everyone he owes. When he owes people we are talking about tens of thousands not 500 bucks like most people.

Roth may have millions in the bank but if that is the case why is he being sued by 3 or 4 different people for failure to pay???
