Possible signs an announcement is nearing....

While I am no way implying that any announcement is on the horizon, I think, given recent evidence (although circumstantial at best) that the band is at least could be finished with the task of doing major recording of the new album. Consider recent sightings of (alleged) band member, Dave in New York. Also, rumors that Ed was in attendance of Brad Pitt's wedding last week. Also, Ed going to a Brittany Spears concert with Wolfie. And Mikey talking about the band's working with a highly recognizable name. It seems to me that all of this shows that the band is not in 5150 at all times, recording. This COULD be a positive sign that an announcement will be made shortly. What do you folks think?

Besides the Michael Anthony comments, I don't think these recent things really provide too much evidence. I can't see that VH, or any veteran band, is just going to be in the studio for weeks and months at a time, without breaks. And it doesn't take a long break for Dave to fly to NY, or for Ed to take Wolfie to a concert. I do thinks Mike's comments could be evidence of things being closer though.

well, ed at brad pitts wedding was squashed by brad, but the bs concert was fact. personally i gotta agree with glenn, but i definitely think that we are nearing vh-day.

I don't think they would make an announcement before recording. At least now they are in relative peace and quiet. To me it seems like just the rabid VH fans are hounding them. If they made an announcement that DLR was back in the band, the news media would descend on 5150 in droves. I think they want to stay out of the media spotlight as much as possible until they have a finished product in hand.

mikey's comments are the only credible thing as of right now.

i can't see them doing any recording in new york. if they wanted to keep the recording a secret, they can still do that at 5150. with the security available, they can do whatever they please.

but, we are getting closer.

I don't know JMJ if they were recording at 5150 then people would be snooping around to see who's coming and going from the place.

it is possible that tey are recording elsewhere, however i see it unlikely that they would go all the way to NY to record. if ed wanted, he could make sure there was *no one* near his house to snoop..trust me! they could shuffle people in and out of the gates and no one would know for certain who was or was not there. it would be all speculation, much like we are doing right now

Has anyone fogotten that there was a rumored report lately that they were recording at 5150 and also a Burbank, CA studio? Come on they never recorded in NYC. They may have sent the recordings for finishing touchup to a NYC studio and Dave may have been involved with that but that's all.

I believe that the album is done and the next step is the announcement. How to DELIVER the announcement is very important. The MTV awards show on Sept. 7 would be the biggest way to do it. It is the most watched music related awards show and VH could come out and knock people on their asses after what happened 4 years ago. It truely seems like the perfect way to make the announcement...to just open up the awards show with "UNCHAINED". Now, that would knock all of us on our asses!Peace out.
