Access Hollywood uses the term "Dropped" concerning Van Halen & Warner Brothers

I don't know if its "newsworthy" or not

, but contrary to the official report that Van Halen left Warner Brothers of their own free will; the show "Access Hollywood" said Van Halen was dropped by Warner Brothers.

Not the best source for solid information, but an indication of how the entertainment industry views the Van Halen/WB split.

With the media, "nothing is official"...so your official report is nothing. Being dropped or dropping at will is NOTHING to the media...the outcome is the same and VH is still the greatest band in history. It's just put in different wording to make it sound like shit for VH. Typical media bullshit. BUT, when Vh returns and kicks ass then the media will say that it was the best move VH ever made was to drop WB. Haha!

I doubt it. Access Hollywood is another media outlet that works for big corporations. Wouldn't surprize me at all if WB owns them. They speak out with the interest of their bosses, just like every other media outlet.

Just like a few years ago, when the National Basketball Players Association was "locked out" by the owners, the media continued/continues to call it a "strike".

Both spins on the VH/WB split are technically correct...

VH goes to WB... we want out?

WB goes to VH... ok you're out.

Both parties can say they dropped each other and both can spin the separation as they please. From a media perspective this is the optimum result. It's surely not the facts... but nobody gets hurt PR wise.
