I've asked this question many times, and gotten many answers:
When was '1984' actually released?
I was living in a *()^hole on Santa Monica Boulevard in Hollywood at the time and it was a pretty big deal then. I distinctly remember the album being available in stores sometime in December 1983, when I purchased my copy, but my memory was admittedly often compromised in those days (no further comment).

First six albums rule. In addition, the following represent the only two Y2K release in the world that are preventing me from losing it altogether waiting for the VH reunion.

Either way, the album rocks.
