sam and dave just on CNN *again*

ok, it's 3:16 am PDT...oddly enough.

i just happened to be flipping through the channels, yes i am up late. i've been working on some guitar parts....

the news anchor (she) was going on about how much tension there is on this tour between sam and dave. from what she said, there shoould be another artcile running in one of the connecticut papers this week about the two feuding. she used the same quote from sam the other day about taking the accent of lame and it reading lame. the she starts talking to the weather guy about it. she said they had a poll att cnn to vote on who was the better singer for van halen and most people she said voted for roth. she also said, "hey do you know kid rock"? "well apparently even he tried to make peace between the two and not even he could do it". the weather man also said he heard from poeple who went to the show that it wasn't worth the $125 tickets. he had to be talking about jersey. there weren't tix that expensive anywhere else

ok now this is the 2nd time they've been on cnn. they've also been on vh-1. it's one of two things...one...the ticket sales are shitty for the tour and they're trying to garner more attention. or two...van halen is planning something soon. why else would these guys be bringing their shit to vh-1 and cnn? u be the judge

that's all that i saw...

they also showed clips from the when it's love and panama videos

it could be both, the sam and dave show is this thursday in hartford connecticut as of this past saturday the radio has said tickets are still on sale.
i do not know how many were sold or if it will sell out. but i do have a friend going to the show she is not a big vh fan so it would be great to see who she thought was better instead of having the dave/sammy fans saying dave was or sammy was, this review would come from someone who is neutral.

You can' blame them for trying, they have plenty of room for more people at their shows.

the meadows in connecticut is a indoor/outdoor venue, if i'm right it has 7,500 seats and i think it can hold up to 20,000 on the lawn. it is a great place for a show if you have seats you can also go out on the lawn then go back to your seat, but lawn tickets you can only stay there. so i would like to see how much of that place they will fill.

Gotta hand it to Dave and Sam on the old hype-meter. They've milked this "fueding, can't stand each other might kill each other soon" line all the way to the bank.

Think they would have received 1/4 of the press they've had otherwise? No way.

Can your friend tell us how WE can find out for ourselves if this is true?

I thought you only got a "Behind the Music" if the record label is funding it to hype a comeback or greatest hits record. Aren't Van Halen without a deal at the moment? No deal = No Behind the Music..... unless... there is a comeback in the pipeline. It's a circular argument though. Do we know if VH owes another greatest hits to WB in their contract? If so, I guess there could be a Behind The Music on the way...

You are correct, GRP is a jazz label. I was, however, referring to Gay Rosenthal Productions, the company that develops and produces BTM episodes for VH1.

Van Halen and Warner Bros terminated their business relationship months ago... semi-officially thru the Mushroom it was stated that VH had dropped WB.

So to answer your question VH doesn't owe WB anything in the way of material. I recall reading WB has the rights to the existing catalog but had pulled that catalog. Unfortunately very few actual facts on the dropping are available as it was deemed "Not Newsworthy" by VH and WB wasn't talking about it either...
