Whats goin' on?

I don't know if anybody remembers me, I was quite a frequent person on the ol' van-halen.com boards and after that closed I didn't know what was goin' on and I didn't have the time anymore like i use to. Basically, what is Van Halen doin' right now? Has there been anything new since the VHND last updated? I did see Sam & Dave at MTV and they both ****ed themselves there if you ask me. Even though i'm a Dave fan, Sam seemed way to interested in what Dave was doin' and made Dave look even worse than that hand clappin he was doin and the laugh (it was way too fake even Dave would admit that) and Sam just made it worse. Not acknowledging Linken Park at all who were probably guys that may have looked up to these guys at one time or another, i thought that was a real blow to new rock bands who have a hard enough when the record companies try and cram crap down our throats and want us to love this shit. Anyways so is there anything new? I'm guessin' not. I though maybe eddie was busy with divorce but i guess thats not the case.
Anyways i hope theres a new VH album. Oh ya, how about a record deal? Last i heard Warner dropped them? So is that why its all quiet? or what?

To sum it up...

Dave and Sam Toured... pretty cool deal for the fans.

Mikey appeared w/ Sam at several of the tour stops...

Dave and Sam did the MTV deal...

Gary joined Sam and Mikey the last couple of tour stops in Boston & NYC...

The rumor mill and general trend among the board rats is it appears Sammy may be the next reunion candidate... no firm facts on this though.

Sam & Dave did the VH1 deal...

Sam had his Birthday bash in Cabo... Mikey went and they did the 3 worms deal... we're waiting on a report from our reporter Vince but he's down with Montezuma's Revenge somthin terrible!!

Just curious -- who thought up the idea of Sam and Dave touring together? How did it come about in the first place?

Apparently Sammy called Dave back in '97 and suggested that they tour together, but as Dave was still bitter over having just been ousted from VH after a failed reunion attempt, he declined.

Fast forward to very recent history and Dave called up Sammy to see if he was still interested in touring together.

Sammy was and tour together they did.

From what has been said... The idea of a joint tour was from a Las Vegas promotor approached the band and Dave & Sam and offered $$mega millions for a tour but it was turned down by all parties... couple of years later the idea popped back into Dave's head and he approached Sam and now they are chewing the same fat again... but no idea where this thing sits with the Brothers..
