Shania Twain singing off-key. Now I know why she rarely, if ever, tours."Stage fright" my ass.

Britney Spears chewing gum while presenting Shania. (How white trash can you get???)

Justin Timberlake blowing off Sharon Osbourne. I wish she would've punched him in his mouth.

Nelly...what the fuck is THAT on his face? Doesn't it ever come off?

Outkast...is there ANY rap act/rapper that can't end their sentences without "Know wha' I sayin'?" At least there wasn't an entourage of 150 people up there to accept the award.

B2K. If you closed your eyes, you'd swear it was N'Sync. They all sound alike! They'll be gone in a year.

Tim McGraw fucking up the lyrics to a classic Elton John song.

Sheryl Crow making a not-too-obvious political statement with her t-shirt and "Uh, what else can I say, but...peace" comment. Way to support our men and women in uniform, you flat-chested bitch.

Was anyone able to make out what Nelly said in his acceptance speech?

Ja "My 15 minutes are almost up" Rule and Bobby "I need a job 'cuz my 15
have been long gone" Brown struttin' around onstage acting like they're talented.

Mariah Carey's self-serving video montage while she was singing, even though it was a weakly disguised tribute to her late father. What was with the constant hand waving...were there flies in front of her face or something?

Nickelback rocked. It was cool they got a standing ovation.

Ozzy looking on as Kelly "sang". That was actually a cool moment. Almost as if he was passing the torch.

What was with Jack's "pimp daddy" outfit?

Was it just me, or was Ashanti nominated in just about every category? I think if she had included a steel guitar in a song she would've been nominated in a country category.

Very cool to dedicate the show to Maurice Gibb.

Sheryl Crow's second "peace" statement. Come to San Diego and spew that crap. See how far it gets you.

Eminem's 4 wins. All this means is that he's hit his pinnacle. There's nowhere else to go but down after this and the Grammy's. Ask Michael Jackson.
"Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that."

"This is a lttle prayer dedicated to the separation of church and state. I guess if they are going to force those kids to pray in schools they might as well have a nice prayer like this: Our Father who art in heaven, and to the republic for which it stands, thy kingdom come, one nation indivisible as in heaven, give us this day as we forgive those who so proudly we hail. Crown thy good into temptation but deliver us from the twilight's last gleaming. Amen and Awomen. ."

"I think it's the duty of the comedian to find out where the line is drawn and cross it deliberately."

-George Carlin 1937 - 2008

I'm surprised you didn't mention the damage-control that was obviously given to Christina Aguilera. She caught so much flack for her recent "whore" image that she was cleaned up and sang two ballads to boot. I was wondering if they even made her take the piercings on her nipples and cooch until they did a close-up of her nose ring!

I'm also surprised she didn't pull a "Britney" and strip out of that gown and get "Dirrrty"!

Best moment:
Sharon Osbourne's "yakk" when reading Creed's win.

Does Elton John have pictures of Dick Clark with an animal or something? He always has to duet with somebody these days.....

Like all awards shows, I had mixed feelings about it.

The Good

The Osbornes came out like gangbusters busting on Britney and J. Timberlake.

Nickelback and the pyrotechnics at the end of their song. Brought back memories.

Christina Aguilera showing off her pipes and not everything else.

The Bad

All the rappers saying "Give it up yawl".

B2K. I couldn't stand that song they were performing.

Nelly and his band-aid. Someone kick him in the face so he will actually need it.

One last thing. My wife was going to bet me money that Christina Aguilera was going to strip off her dress ala Britney Spears from a few years ago. I should have bet her.

I didn't even know what the catagory was for or who else was nominated when Sharon read that.

I can't believe she presented with that Nsuck turd.

did they forget that they made fun of Nsuck during a pre-concert film on one of the recent Ozzy tours???

about the coolest thing I saw on that show last night was when that little kid did a flip off the stage during Missy's performance.

and Willie Nelson!

Sharon has really changed her tune over the last year. I guess her upcoming talk show is making her kiss more ass.

she almost pulled a Jimmy "Guns N Fuckin' Roses" Fallon when announcing Maria Scary

I didn't get to check out their performance, but I cringed when I saw those two go up to "help" accept the award for best soundtrack.

I stopped watching awards shows sometime in the 90s I think. Now it's just rap and crap IMO, though I'll admit there are a few people across different genres who seem to make some attempt at creating good music. Maybe I'm just cynical..

I finally stopped watching awards shows. Didn't see any of this one. I probably would have watched if it hadn't been hosted by the most pathetic family in history. Charlie Manson is pissed off at me for bumping his 'family' down to number two on the list, but I gotta do what I gotta do.

Good for him. Why should he be deferential to Momma Trash Re-record???

Sadly, you didn't need cable for this one. It was on ABC.

I only get NBC in my neck of the woods. In which case it would have been "Law & Order: American Music Awards-Special Security Detail". That might have been better. Ice-T could have bitch-slapped Eminem with a rubber dog puppet.

I too saw the Ashanti/Eminem/Osbourne fiasco that was the AMA's.

Vince G you're dead on in your description of what was going on. The whole show was just awful; 90% of the performances sucked, and then you had the same artists nominated in every category!

Ashanti and Eminem were nominated for everything; damn, did anyone else release any CD's last year!?
I know they go by record sales and airplay; but come on, when you only nominate 3 people in any one category (and they're the same damn people from the last category!) that just blows!

The whole bit with Christina and Maria was hilarious...Like they deliberately downplayed their recent bouts of sluttyness and temporary insanity!

Then you have Shania giving her half-assed out of tune and time performance. I've never heard her sound so bad.

Willie Nelson and Toby Kieth singing was just plain bad. The song's verses over-run the music and the chorus flowed terribly, my son could put better music to a song!

Don't get me started on the rappers! I think the cliche is wearing thin...Think of another catch-fraise for Christ's sake!

The Osbourne's have long since outworn their welcome...Yeah; it was cute and funny a year ago, but enough is enough already! Anybody else think that Kelly is the one that needs to Shut Up?

I know I've cut 'em down pretty hard; but this is supposed to be the best in the buisness, and to get awarded and praised for this just goes to show the sad state of affairs that is the music industry!
