notice how the remasters had no advertising what so ever. the only way of knowing was if you had the internet!
i mean at the record stores when it first came out up here, they werent even placed on the new releases section... weird shit...

I haven't seen them, but apparently WB released remasters from other artists at the same time as the Van Halen ones. You would think that at least WB would have had an in store display set up for their whole remastered catalogue. Seems silly to release something that you're obviously proud of, yet not even let the world know it's there.

WB has never been really loyal when it comes to publicizing their older artists, I'm not surprised.

It shouldn't even be a question of loyalty though. As a corporation, their key goal in releasing a product would be to make money, and there would certainly be more money made if they spent a little on some advertising. If they didn't want to sell them, why bother remastering and releasing them? Somebody over at WB needs to give their head a shake.

Very true, but perhaps they figure why spend advertising dollars on something that won't generate much in return. Yes they'll put it out, generate some revenue, but it seems like putting anything more behind it would just be a waste. At least judging by their advertising strategy, or lack there of.

The worst advertisers are actually the record stores themselves. I wandered through 4 local CD Stores near my house. None of them had the remastered Van Halen CD's on the shelf.
I went to peaches music, sam goody, record town and spec's. It's pretty pathetic that they didn't have them on the shelves where customers could see them.
They just wanna sell the original copies before they put the remasters on the counter.
That's absolutely wrong
