Thanks, Robbie! I'll be amazed if anybody sticks with that for the whole 23 or so minutes. In my head I mapped out what I wanted to say and figured it would be five minutes. Whoops!

George Lynch fake dialed me to his guitar manufacturer in 2009 at the time - all after a damn good soundcheck - when I praised him over his ESP tiger stripe and gave a shout out for left handed guitarists like my self who totally would love to shred on one (some day).

Well, after he made a fake call to “ESP” in front of me and my poster, I asked my family if we could leave.

Maybe something from Mr. Lynch was off, but I just didn’t appreciate the way a guitarist influencer would treat a fan/inspired shredder.

Sometimes, I guess, it’s best to not meet your heroes...

My friend, Paul, idolized Lynch.

He even bought the Kamikaze ESP guitar, the pre-LTD version, that was crazy expensive.

I remember i hated that thing, because it was really heavy.
But he bought it because he loved Lynch, even though his Ibanez RG, to me, was a far
superior feeling guitar (i had a Charvel and Washburn N2, at that time).

I ended up seeing Lynch the most out of any guitarist, because of Paul.

Then he got to meet him on the Lynch Mob tour (second record, i believe,
the one with Tangled in the web).

He brought his Kamikaze, and said Lynch was not a nice dude.
I guess he was very sarcastic, and said: I won't sign it, because you will sell it (his Kamikaze).

The kid paid premium price for that ESP (again, it was pre-LTD budget versions of those).

But Lynch for him, was like EVH for me.
He seemed kinda sad, after that encounter.

And i still think that Ibanez RG smoked that huge ass, heavy, giant fretboard Kamikaze.
It was so uncomfortable, where the Ibanez felt almost effortless.

I guess the Kamikaze had better tone/pickup, but just throw in a Dimarzio or Duncan.

An Ibanez neck on a Strat body = the greatest thing since enchiladas: smooth, runny and beefy.

Lynch has a strange tone variation...his guitars are his tonal mids while he incorporates his low bass/mids and crank the treble via amplification and whatever he has running and ruining his true amplifier gain...

Sorry to hear that. I think Jeff is the only down to earth one. My brother met him '85. Said he was cool as hell.

Don just kind of went off on Dokken in a recent interview. Said that he and George never really wrote a song. Either Don wrote the entire song including riffs or that George and Jeff would write, Mick did nothing expect play drums. I don't really buy it.

I think Lynch is a great player & very intelligent dude.
When he speaks, he's always incredibly articulate with his points.

I do know, without Don or Jeff, his songs were just not as good.
The Dokken albums, like Ratt, had some really strong writing, even if its considered
"Hair Metal."

Even the non-hits are really well written:
Turn on the action, Will the sun rise, Standing in the shadows, etc.

I loved the playing on the Lynch solo albums, but the songs just never fully grabbed me,
like Dokken could with something like "The Hunter" or "Unchain the night."

I think that was more Don & Jeff, creating a great foundation of a song.
Lynch was like their Wiz-kid, and he was so good, they were smart enough to let him
do his thing.

I discovered him a year or so ago, and subscribed right away.
Just a monster player, but completely down to Earth.

Loved the recent Steve Stevens Chordplay lesson.
