Me Wise Magic...yes again

I've listening BOV1 thru headphones today and man, MWM kicks serious ass. There is so much guitarwork in the background, it's hard to concentrate on just one. I also love the chemistry between the lyrics and the music. If VH could reunite w/ DLR and recapture the chemistry, we are looking at the greatest comeback album of all-time.

It's an absolutely stunning song. The last couple of minutes, Eddie's guitar work makes the hair on my arms stand up. I'm a big fan of the Sammy era too, but I think Me Wise Magic is better than any song Van Halen ever did with Sammy.

Guitar wise, this may be the definitive statement from Edward Van Halen. He's just a monster on it.

I wouldn't go quite that far and say MWM is better then anything the did with Hagar--...but I DO think it is an amazing song. And the guitar work is OUTSTANDING!!!!!

TECHNICALLY the music was written while Sammy was still in the band, see? So that statement doesn't 100% hold water [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img]

Me Wise Magic is truly an awesome song. It was recorded after CGTSNM, right? That would have sucked if they decided to quit recording after one, or else we wouldn't have heard it.

I think there are many Sammy era VH songs that are better however Glenn. [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

I also think that Judgement Day is Eddie's most impressive song on guitar, followed closely by Mean Street. [img]smilies/cool.gif[/img]

I've always been partial to Dreams myself as far as the whole "vibe" goes.

Course I prefer CGTSNM (gee, couldn't guess THAT could you?) compared to MWM even...

I just started listening to this song alot lately! I've found a new love for it, thanks to this thread. Eddie is monsteruous on that song. I wish Dave oculd have stayed aaway from the high pitched vocals though.

This song absolutely rules. I like how Eddie describes it, The Three Faces Of Shamus, or something like that. Think how much greater that song would've been if Dave had had time to get his voice in shape.

But nevertheless, one of my faves.
