Minus the production values, if you just listen to the songwriting, I think this is Dave's best album.

Only songs I don't like are Right Tool for the Job and Relentless. RTJ is just a stinker and Relentless, Dave's voice sounds horrible.

Wawazat!, Black Sand, Weekend with Babysitter and Goin' Places are favorites.

    Whaddya think?

I agree that Relentless is a mess, easily in Dave's bottom five.

But I totally disagree with you about Right Tool For the Job. This is totally the type of song that Dave is best suited for now. The speedy songs don't play to his vocal strength anymore. The slow blues style like this allow Dave to slow down, and he sounds great. I'd love to see Dave give up the rock god spandex thing and put together an album and a show based around this style.

Imagine a setlist in a reasonably intimate venue, featuring new songs mixed in with such tunes as Little Dreamer, Secrets, Right Tool For the Job, Going Places, Tell The Truth, Night Life, Experience, Damn Good, Ladies Night in Buffalo, Coconut Grove, Take Your Whiskey Home, The Dogtown Shuffle.

I love Dave's darkness, and it's ALWAYS there in his music. I'd like to see him explore it more in the live setting. Not in a downer type of way, just in a midnight at the lost and found kinda way.

And for my money, A Little Ain't Enough is Dave's masterpiece solo album.

I love "Goin' Places", it is my favorite on that album. I do think that the intro is a little too long, but otherwise it's one of Dave's best.

"Right Tool for the Job" is a great Blues tune. Pretty good blues guitar work on it. Dave is great singing these blues-type songs, wish he'd do more of them. Hell, I wish he'd do more of anything nowadays. That aside, I would have like to seen what DLR Band CD would have sounded like with better production. If you think that's his best stuff, more power to ya, I've gotta go with A Little Ain't Enough.

Last night at my schools basketball game (ORU vs SMU) during halftime, we had some extrme dunk team. You know the guys who do all those dunks mascots do at NBA games? Well anyways, they open up by playing Slam Dunk. I was prolly the only in the gym who'd ever heard it but it was cool none the less.

And on the matter of Dave's best, I have to agree with my pal Glenn, ALAE is the best.
