Which do you guys prefer in concert, Mike's bass solo or him singing lead on a song i.e. SGMAD on the 3 tour. Personaly, I've never been that crazy about bass solos. They just don't do anything for me. Give me Mikey crankin' out a lead vocal or two any day!
"One of the reasons I left Sabbath was because Van Halen was blowing us off the stage every night. It was embarrassing." -Ozzy Osbourne
"When I first heard "Runnin' With The Devil" on the radio, I was stunned and found myself dizzy, walking through my high school hallways thinking, "What was THAT?!"
Eddie Van Halen was so innovative and kicked so much ass, and David Lee Roth was for a time indisputably the Greatest Man in America.
If aliens came down and challenged us to a Battle of the Bands to decide the fate of Planet Earth, I would feel very confident putting early Van Halen forward as our champion." -Tom Morello
"There is no heir to the throne of Eddie Van Halen. Nobody sits on that throne. Nobody takes that throne. Here's why it's different with Eddie: when a great guitar player passes, you just move on to another, right? But in this case, Eddie wasn't just a 'guitar player'. We're talking about a guy who changed culture and how we play guitar. He was like an alien coming in and fucking everything up so much that even the legends beforehand are like, 'Okay .. what is happening here? What sorcery is this?'" -Nuno Bettencourt

I'd rather hear him sing with the band. Bass solos are kind of boring.

I've maintained for quite a while VH should just "give" Mikey SGMAD as "his" song to do each show! The times I've heard him sing that one live are jsut absolutely amazing!!!
Even if DLR comes back, let Mikey handle the lead vox on that one...what a great song!
Cool hearing Ed & co singing "somebody get Mike a doctor!"
Sadly, after the car show incident, that may have been the literal case after Ed got done chewin' that ass! "Once the final BAN has been completed I will ban myself." -OLO, March 21, 2002

um, well, since here's hoping that DLR would be back, i'm cool with him doing his bass solo. although if someone else joins, then he should get a song to so, that would be cool.

If it's the reunion tour, I don't want Mike going back and singing SOMEBODY GET ME A DOCTOR or another Dave-era classic. What's the point? You've got the actual singer right there!! I didn't like him doing that on the 3 Tour. It made me feel more and more like I was seeing a cover band, and it reminded me even more that Dave wasn't there because they turned this ferocious classic into a good-time hand-clapper with Mike almost declaring with his vocals performance, "Who needs Dave?"
When he screeched, it actually hurt the ears...badly."I had a girl beating on my hotel door all night...She was screaming, crying. Finally, I said, 'What the hell'...and I let her out!"- DLR

Hmm ... first time I've heard a take on Mikey's SGMAD like this before."One of the reasons I left Sabbath was because Van Halen was blowing us off the stage every night. It was embarrassing." -Ozzy Osbourne

Other than seeing the VH bros. perform live, the only thing that made the Cherone tour worth seeing was hearing Mike and the boys play SGMAD.
I would rather hear Mike play bass and DLR sing that song. I could do without a Mike Anthony bass solo, and trade it for a couple of more classic VH tunes with Roth.
