For me a couple of songs that I really wasn't sure if I liked until I heard them a few times would be "Poundcake" and recently "So this is love" has been growing on me as well.

Basically the whole Diver Down album grew on me. I had just about every Van Halen CD before I finally bought it, but didn't listen to it much. Then I started liking some of the very few original songs on it like Hang 'em High, Secrets, Little Guitars, and The Full Bug.
Still my least favorite DLR-era album, but it's still pretty good.

Achievements:
It took me quite a few listens to enjoy VH III, but now I love it. Finish What Ya Started is another one that I didn't like at first. Pleasure Dome as well.

"Take Me Back."
When I first listened to it, I thought it was complete cheese. (Now, I only see it as partial-cheese.) The intro didn't move me until I heard it enough. Then I got an idea on where Eddie was going with it.
And Alex's timing on it is cool, if you pay attention to it.

Would have to be material from Sammy/Gary era because I was 9 when VH began and I was too young to understand why I liked VH so the music couldn't grow on me - anyway -
Sammy era:
Black and Blue - love it now
Sucker in a Three Piece
Get Up
Big Fat Money

I would say most of the "3" album.
It's not my favorite VH overall, but musically I think it deserves much credit!

Songs that have grown on me...
Josephina
A Apolitical Blues
and *drum roll*
Hot for Teacher
Okay, so I still don't fully like the last one, but the music to it kicks. Still can't get into Get Up off of 5150 though...

Amsterdam - Gotta tone out some lame ass lyrics, but the music is awesome.
Spanked - See previous remark
From Afar - At first I thought this song was kinda goofy, now it's my favorite off the 3 album.
Loss of Control - Never really liked it before, now I kinda dig it.
