Please, I need some help.
I've downloaded an MP3 version of the Top gun theme (studio version), where the artist featured is Eddie Van Halen. I had already seen this song associated with Eddie several times in different sites and now I finally decided to download it.
But wasn'it recorded by Steve Stevens?
The style is not just Eddie's and the guitar solo sounds a little different from his.
In my opinion it has nothing to do with VH, but I don't know.
Is there anybody who nows something?
Thanx

I had one that said it was by Joe Satriani, but I know it wasn't by Satch or Ed. (However it does sound like Satch). your probably right about Steve Stevens doing it. I never knew who it was I just remember reading somthing about how it wasn't Eddie or Satch on the Top Gun thing.

I'm pretty sure it's Steve Stevens. I've also seen files that say "Top Gun theme - Eddie Van Halen", but they're just mislabeled.

Achievements:
Steve Stevens and Harold Faltermeyer recorded the Top Gun Anthem - EVH had nothing to do with it, even though in parts it sounded like he did.
