Who else here thinks this song totally KICKS ASS!...
I'm sitting here at work right now and I got this one playing here in the lab. I gotta say, this may be a cover tune (I know how Ed feels about cover tunes) but this one is a winner!
Awesome tune. It's got such feeling, and humor in it. I can picture the boys having a ball recording this one. (Especially having their father play clarinet on it)
Anyone out there know if they EVER did this one live? (I kinda doubt it, but ya never know)
Glenn, do you know ?

I'm almost positive they never did it live. I remember something about them intending to with Jan, but he was too nervous to do it. That seems funny since he was a lifelong musician, but I do remember hearing that.
Good call, it's a great song, really unexpected.

I think he was nervous because one of his fingers got chopped off. His middle one I think. He was nervous about doing the solo on the album because of that too

Always liked this tune. Kinda thought maybe it was Dave's little message to Eddie at the time.

Dave's inflection make this tune cook. That, and Jan's SMOKING clarinet solo.
Jesus, what a family!

Another great thing about BBB is that it's sandwiched between two of the best VH songs of all time; Little Guitars and the Full Bug.

Good call BC.
I have always loved this tune. Really shows off the bands versatility. Also great to hear some of Jan's chops.
Any family with that much talent is not from this earth.

I think so many people like the song because it's, er, weird and totally NOT VH, but they can pull it off with style.
That and it's got a good beat, it swings, and it ends with such an immortal classic line of, "Cha..... YEAS!"

I just love the song, I think it's great because it is so different from almost anything else VH performed. And yes, I do think I read somewhere that Dave wanted that song on the album as sorta his dig at Eddie getting married. If I remember right he married Val around the time before Diver Down came out.
Great tune. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so!
