While I applauded its sound quality, I feel that "Right Here, Right Now" live album had poor choices for songs: Too much material from F.U.C.K. and while it was alleged to have been recorded on the 5150, 0U812 and F.U.C.K. tours, judging from the inclusion of too much F.U.C.K. material, I would say that most of it was recorded that tour.

IMO, F.U.C.K. was the weakest of the Van Hagar albums and the less tracks from it, the better. Plus, the band's chemistry and enthusiasm was weak, as evidenced in the long-form video version. The pay-per-view from the "Balance" tour was much better: Despite the fact that the end had begun, it was a more energetic and fiery performance.

Whaddya you guys think?

Gonna send this to the Songs/Albums/Videos Forum.

LRHRN isn't very good. Sounds too stale, lousy song selection.

They definitely could have done a better job on it. It was recorded on two different days, right? What I like about LWAN is that it just one show. In a thread about RHRN I started earlier I said I didn't like the song selection. There should have been more songs from OU812 and less from F.U.C.K.

I believe there was a thread on this already but I'll comment on it again. I agree that there were some songs that could have been elminated, 'In & Out', 'Man on a Mission'.
The big highlight for me is the end of Disc 2. From Eddie's solo to the end, there is some high energy. I love the cover they did of 'Won't Get Fooled Again' which is my favorite non-Van Halen tune.

Lastly, I thought 'Aint Talkin Bout Love' should have been later on the record.

LIVE IN TORONTO 1995 was much better (I was there...it was a great concert!). LIVE WITHOUT A NET is amazing. And if you want to get really good, try 1984 TOUR LIVE IN MONTREAL with Dave. Now that's a Van Halen live experience. Simply the best show I've ever seen (not firsthand, have the tape of it). This live album is so polished and boring and contains none of the extreme energy and dangerous-feeling that made them so amazing and notorious in the first place.

I agree.

RHRN, was like they put an audience track on the FUCK album, yuck.

TO Balance 95 was a great show.

LWAN, was a great great show.

The Cabo gig was great, the Zep covers were cool.

That DLR show 1984 TOUR LIVE IN MONTREAL was good.

The US fest was special, I really like that one.

I thought the Live album was decent and it would have been much better had there been a couple more DLR tunes and more material from 5150 and OU812.

I love that album! It's my favorite live album! I would have liked to have heard more from 5150 or OU812 but For Unlawful is such a great album it doesn't really matter.

RHRN smokes, one of my favorites. For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge is one of my favorite VH albums so for the most part, I dig the set list. There's a couple songs I'd replace as well, but all in all I really dig the album. Won't Get Fooled Again sounded incredible too.

RHRN is an ok album, but nothing compared with true classic rock live albums like Iron Maiden's Live After Death or Deep Purple's Made In Japan.....
