Damn boss, you put in some work last night. Served up the entire setlist worth of videos in here!
For posterity's sake, I'll say again that this was a great show, and was the closest thing we could get to a true Van Hagar lineup concert in 2024. Sam and Mike brought their A-game and I'm really glad I got to see them pay so much attention to this era of VH. Bonham was super solid, and Joe did a great job being true to himself while playing these tunes. I kinda wish my show hadn't been opening night, as I think I would've been a bit more in the moment had I seen a few videos beforehand.
Yeah I did spend a good couple hours getting all this set up. I tried to find the best videos I could for each song even if they might’ve been cut off a little bit at the beginning. Some of the ones that were full versions were like a mile away and didn’t sound very good. So I tried to find ones that were closer and at least sounded better.

Thanks for the work Brett. They are sounding great. Mostly above expectations. My only gripe if there is one, is the downtuning and slower tempos on some songs. But who cares really, right? This should be celebrated.

Father Time waits for no one.
Sammy has been a full step down for going on a decade, and that's completely fine. The man will be 77 in a few months. He's older than Robert Plant, if you can believe it.
Save for Glenn Hughes at age 72 because he's an absolute freak of nature, I can't name one hard rock singer in that age range that still performs in the original key. Rob Halford still sounds insanely good for 72, but Priest have been performing a half step down since his return to the band in 2004. I guess the closest would be Bruce Dickinson, but he's several years younger than a lot of his peers, I believe he just turned 65.

it's cools as hell that they're playing the seventh seal. Sam must love that song, it was played in 04 and it pops up here. it's a great song.

I think it’s probably fairly easy to sing.

Full step down doesn't bother me as long as the vocal is still there. If you are still straining certain notes a full step down, then God bless. [emoji3]
I don't mean any sarcasm by that either.
It’s as good as it’s gonna be for a 77-year old dude. There’s still a few places Sam can’t quite hit some parts, even tuned down.
And Mike is helping a lot.
Sam’s VH vocals are just hard for a young guy to even do. He had some fucking pipes.
