Dave's about as well rounded a rock icon as you can be. Simply an amazing guy.

Dave... likes sheep then? I guess all the people at the Army have been wrong for years then! Oh the irony!

But it really makes you wonder... Dave's BBQ vid... to radio DJ... then EMT before that... now raising sheep dogs... there's really no logic to his madness!!! :D

Dang, thought I had the line on that zinger. Anyway, you should have also mentioned to try the veal, which apparently Dave herded as well.

Seeing what Dave has done with his fame, I admire him for choosing to buy a passport of life rather than just a mansion in the hills. He's definitely made the most of it.

That really shows what Dave is made of. It takes mucho effort to train one dog, but he has 3?

I have a German shepherd (Buddy) from German stock He will be 2 on May 5th. I guess that's what they were originally bred for. You don't see many German Shepherds doing that work.

DLR is an amazing individual with a true passion for life. I get the feeling if DLR wasn't the singer of a great rock band we all love he would have still lived the life of ten men.

All men die. Few men truly live.

Anyone else think Dave looks incredibly badass with that beard he has in the video? :smokin:

But in response to the main topic, I can't help but respect Dave more and more from what I keep hearing about him over time. :D

LOL ... DLR never ceases to amaze me.

That was actually pretty fascinating, Dave ... never thought herding sheep could be so entertaining.

I'm not one to think everything Dave does is so unique and interesting, but these videos really have been... unique and interesting. I was bored with the sheepherding bit in his "scrapbook" video, but having him explain it here gives it a whole new perspective. Hopefully he puts more of these kinds of videos out on a regular basis. Like maybe one per week or something like that.

This video made me chuckle, especially the part at the end where the sheep jumped about 4 feet in the air right at Dave. You can hear the passion he has for this craft.

that leap could have sidelined this whole event if a little more to the right, but i have mad respect for what he is doing as far training them cuz i have a Australian Shepard mix and she is the best dog after a while of training her, smartest dog i have ever seen. 4/27 Nashville :headbang:

Dave is a very very interesting person. Everything he says is so entertaining and somewhat inspiring. In the 80's it was like FUCK I GOT TO BE IN A BAND! Now it's like FUCK I GOT TO GET SOME SHEEP AND SOME DOGS AND SOME HILLS. Shit.

DLR is one cool dude.

I like him better when he is authentic like he has been lately. For a while, let me put my Dr. Phil hat on, he seemed to be putting on an act, pretending to be the DLR he thought everyone wanted him to be.

I like this guy much better than caricature of himself he was portraying in the late 90's and into the 00's.

And people rag Sammy for dabbling in the tequila business.....

Actually this is freakin' cool to see Dave...well...."Dave". Seeing him laugh after the sheep almost took him out and just being himself is pretty damned cool. We're so used to seeing Dave in front of the camera as being somebody who is always being the showman. These videos are great because Dave's really showing what a lot of us knew before hand and that is that he is pretty damned intelligent and extremely well spoken.

When I listened to his radio show, he could tell a great story. His show was not particularly funny, controversial, or exciting, but sometimes he would be telling a story and it was great just listening to him.

Did anyone else find it amusing that one of his dogs is named Mike? Sure mike is a very common name for people, but sort of a funny name for a dog, and since the other missing member is named mike...just too funny. I'm sure MA would get a kick out of that!!

I've read somewhere that Dave also has a pilots license as well? Is that true? Anyways, what a diverse individual he is. Pretty cool.
