I hope people understand something here...this is not Iraq, this is not Kosovo, this will not be a CNN TV War. Some of our guys will get killed.
It does not surprise me that one of our planes may have gotten shot down. The Taliban from what I have read has an almost endless supply of Stinger's (Bad Mother Fuckers) Some of our planes will get shot down. We need to get used to that.

quote:
Taliban forces shot down an unmanned spy plane in northern Afghanistan on Saturday, a Taliban official said.

Abdul Salam Zaeef, the hard-line Taliban's ambassador to Pakistan, said the aircraft was shot down over Tashgurgan Pass in Afghanistan's northern Samangan province by Taliban soldiers armed with Russian-made anti-aircraft weapons.

The Afghan Islamic Press, which is based in Islamabad, Pakistan, first reported that it was a U.S. spy plane, then said it wasn't sure which country it was from.

"We are still trying to ascertain what country this plane belongs to," Zaeef said in an interview.

The aircraft could have entered northern Afghanistan from Russia or one of the nearby Central Asian states, such as bordering Uzbekistan.

The reported downing of the spy plane came as U.S. forces prepared for a possible attack on Afghanistan, which is harboring Osama bin Laden, the prime suspect in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington.

It may have been shot down, but now we know where some of them are. When playing hide and seek you never are suppose to sneeze. smilies/devil.gif

I heard on the news today that it was a helicopter not a spyplane and it wasn't American.
