Awesome song & Edward's solo kicks ass. Only one problem with it - couldn't understand half the lyrics when I first listened to it, but the more I give it a spin, the more I understand.

As much as that song sounds good on record, it sounds 100 times better live. Cool song to listen to on a hot summer night with an ice cold beer. Damn, the summer couldn't come sooner for me.

Awesome tune. That song came to me at just the right time too. I love the way that Eddie's solo sounds kind of empty without another guitar part behind it. Very appropriate IMO.

And if I recall the music on Year to the Day was supposedly the music for unreleased/unfinished song Between Us Two.

And to that, if you listen to like Fire in the Hole live, it's down half a step, maybe a whole step. I've always thought that was why it was a little easier to enjoy. But that's just me.

Year to the Day is a powerful song, like the Gary mini-era or not. I would say that it is the second best song on III, behind Without You. Year to the Day is actually a decent song for Gary's singing style and EVH's guitar is unbeliebvable in parts. It's an epic tune.

It's my favorite tune off of VH3, and IMO it's Ed's best solo of the last 10 years.
