Fluffer chick at the army posted this over there, so many thanks and credit to her for this. I found it to be pretty interesting and highly believable. Goes hand in hand with the coke problem I heard Dave had. Anyways, for what its worth...

Subject: [dlrml] The whole sha-bang.

Yo, ho, ho and a bottle of rum!

Here's the news, and if you can't handle the truth, fuck off.

Back in November, I told you Bart Walsh was out (click this link
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dlrml/message/1252 and check bartwalsh.com).

The replacement is some recent GIT graduate from Japan.

If you were the one person who loved LAATPHT you're gonna love the new
"music" no
label or distributor will touch.

Lyrics going over house music "Crablouse." and a couple of "tek'd up" Beatle
remakes.
10 "songs" shopped and all doors slammed.

That "spectacular" DVD, file that in the garbage bin, "no distributor
interested." "Digital
video is not 35mm."

Bart Walsh not the only one gone. Steve Martin (personal assistant), Kieren
McClelland
(manager), Jeff Green (body guard) all gone! "He's too nuts to deal with."

New management, if you can call it that, is a former bus boy from Boston -
no prior
experience, just "extreme" access to vicodin. Hence no new gigs.

More lawsuits are in the works from none of the above mentioned. Specifics
coming,

Reunion UNlikely- God Bless Eddie & Alex Van Halen.

...just the tip of the iceberg.

Ouch!! Either Dave's headed for skid row (not the band), or someone's got a bitter taste in their mouth from him (DLR's Cock?!)

Seenbad, you're welcome. I'm truly hopeing this is all bullshit but it scared the crap out of me. I've been a DLR/Classic VH fan since almost the beginning and to think that DLR has fallen that low is sooooo sad. He always struck me as being to smart for that but who the hell knows what's going on anymore.

I completely believe it, especially the part about Dave's DVD being shot w/ a digital cam and not being distributed.

What's vicodin? I assume slang for coke or something.

IF my assumption is right - than I can see it. There was an interview a while back - and I think every person on this board kinda said "what the fuck is Dave talking about?"

That fact that his upcoming DVD was shot on a "digital video" format versus film has nothing to with someone not being interested. This wouldn't stop anybody from selling the product......hell look at The Blair Witch Project.....that fucker did quite well and it's shot on video...........trust me on this one.
Actually I think most of us are Dave, Sam, and Mike fans. There's just a small group of people who have strange allegiances and like to get into petty pissing contests that I can't believe everyone on this site isn't bored of. - Brett

Trent Reznor bought a bunch of DV cameras, had people shoot at various live shows, edited the whole thing on a Mac using Final Cut Pro and released a kickass concert DVD last week. I can certainly believe the rest though - I also heard that Dave has a coke problem.

Well I look at this way... if davidleeroth.com is any indication of the quality/content of Dave's DVD then it's quite apparent why nobody would buy into a distribution deal. The web site is nothin but self-promotion narcicist crap and total waste of band-width.

Dave was cool in his time and at times. But the space-age slez act w/ midgits and latex body suits wrapped around some shapely ho's is old shit... even with hot music accompanying it.

If I were to purchase something of the sort it would have to be dirt cheap... $10-12 and frankly it would be purely for nostalgic purposes. Honestly I'd opt to rent it, watch it once and move on... Clearly my own teenage kids would have no interest in it. The stuff that holds their interest is no where in Dave's ballpark.

If Dave does have a substance abuse problem then then those actions speak for the results. One's body and especially mind can only take so many years of abuse before the it's toast... especially the brain....

Dave looked fine when I saw him in concert back in September. He was in incredable shape.

We all know Dave (and Ed) has done his fair share of coke in his time, but if you compare him to some of the burn-outs like Brian Wilson (Beach Boys), or Bob Dylan or C.C. Devil (Poison), you can see that Dave is not an addict or a burn-out. I think those days are over for Dave.

He really is in great shape. He may be an asshole to work with, but I wouldn't blame that on the drugs.

I agree Jimmy & Johnathan....DV has taken leaps and bounds the last 5 or 6 years. I used to be one of those who only believed it was only "real" if it was shoot on Super 16 or 35, BUT you can get awesome reults with even a $2500 sony 3 chip camera....I don't think the format part of the message is true at all.....who knows about the rest.

I don't think Dave will have a problem at all with getting his dvd distributed.
From 3-13 to 10-6 and NFC South Champs.....go Saints!

One thing doesn't click: a 1 million $ tab and DV cams. I don't see how you could spend that much $ working in digital. That's stuf pretty cheap.

Unless, of course, Dave counts how much $ he had to spend on funny substances in order to be able to complete de DVD...
