I have tried to see if this was on this site, but couldn't find a post.. so I thought I would bring this "rumour up".

A southern ontario radio station Htz FM (97.7) reported a few VH rumours on Music notes at 6 (they played VH / DLR 3 times in 2 hours). The one rumour was the sammy rumour that dave was in for 4 songs and then kicked out, but then they had this rumour:

Journey has said "on their website" (www.journeytheband.com I'm guessing) that they are delaying the release of THEIR next album until the start of next year and they will be co headlinging a tour with VH early 2001.

However, I can't find that info. On the official Journey site it says "We regret too announce the delay in releasing our upcoming CD "ARRIVAL". This decision was made by Sony and Management and we are as disappointed as everyone else is that it has been delayed. We will keep everyone updated as to upcoming changes."

Anyone know where they got that info, or any info on this? I can't imaging VH needing Journey to co-headline with.

In my opinion, Journey would get murdered by a reunion hungry Van Halen audience. The only type of band that's going to survive opening for VH is one with alot of attitude and energy; which is not something I equate with Journey.

I can't imagine in a million years that Journey would open for VH on this reunion tour. They aren't even close to the same style of music, and VH certainly won't need anyone else to help them sell tickets.

Glenn, I agree with you 100%. On the ride home from Ottawa, I was in the car scratching my head.

I just checked out the official Journey website (yeah, I said it) and I don't see any mention of VH in the latest statement.

I think there is an interview with Neil Schon at melodicrock where he says that the Journey tour was delayed because of Sony not Van Halen......whatever that means

All I have to say is that if Journey is indeed going to tour with VH, then we're going to probably be seeing a lot of scarves on the show. I read here a few days ago that in the early days, when Journey was opening for VH, Steve Perry was seen by DLR walking around with a scarf around his neck. Dave said "why the scarf" and Steve said "Because my voice is working hard" or something to that effect. Next day, Dave had all the roadies tie scarves around their weiners! I forgot who told that story but it's priceless!

Besides, I know Steve Perry isn't with Journey anyway, but why go out with a band again when 20+ years ago, their lead singer (Dave) made your lead singer (Steve) cry?? (

I wonder if this rumor isn't one of those "swingin' down' memory lane rumors. Just like the old days, Journey will tour with Van Halen and the wild and racous Van Halen can make Steve Perry cry again.

Um, how and why did Steve Perry cry? Excuse my Aussie ignorance - not a Journey fan.

Well the Journey back in the day was cool. Steve does have a great voice and all. LMAO if they do something that funny. Not only will Van Halen kick their shit, again, but Journey will only last about three dates into the tour. I mean yeah, if it happens, both groups will be like, "Hey remember when," and all that. Both sides will be all nice and polite etc, then...."IT'S SHOWTIME!" After about three of those, Journey will "mysteriously" have to join another tour. LOL. It's fun till the curtain drops. After that, Van Halen will have to do what needs to be done. LOL. ie. dominate every show. Not gonna happen, but fun to pretend stuff like that. Oh yeah, the not gonna happen part, that's talkin about Journey tryin' to run and gun with the SHIT! As for Van Halen dominating the rock world, in time my friends. LOL. Out.

I just want to set the record straight. Van Halen OPENED UP for Journey during the 1978 tour. The reason why Mr. Bitch Perry cried was because the fans came to see the great Van Halen...and took the "journey" home when VH finished. Mr. Bitch cried because nobody liked him anymore, except that Sheri bitch in his solo video.

I agree with Track 5, but I'm tellin' ya what I heard. I am trying to find out a contact number for "Music notes at 6 " the show I heard it on but I can't. Anyone from Southern Ontario got ideas?

Website of the radio station that broadcast this was www.htzfm.com
