Someone on the DLR Army message board posted that he heard from a radio station the MA was quoted saying to the extent that he isn't happy with VH working with DLR and that he thinks a lot of good songs would not make it because they are designed to fit in with DLR's voice! He also was "quoted" to say that he must move on! Any truth to MA leaving the band?? I SURE HOPE NOT BECAUSE VH WILL FAIL UNLESS THEY HAVE THE FULL ORIGINAL BAND INTACT WHEN THEY DO THEIR NEXT ALBUM!!!!!!
WE NEED A VH/DLR REUNION NOW!!!!

I'm not worried at all. I think its horse shit. How great a life has MA had with VH? He's with em' till the bitter end. And if he's not, then screw him. But I think he is.

Unless we hear it from Mike himself, lets not get too excited.

I am sure though that Mike is damn tired of the brothers VH by now. Its obvious that Mike and Sammy still talk, if Mike did anything outside of VH it would probably be a lil' Cabo Wabo gig with Sammy or something.

I dont see Mike ever leaving Van Halen, the band. He is a very important part of the bands' sound. Especially when we can actually hear his bass on releases.

Well, he is supposedly making a solo album, *with* Sammy.

Maybe that's his defintion of "moving on"...???

Step away from the glue bottle! Go outside and get some fresh air! I really have to wonder sometimes where people get this shit! Yes, Sammy and Mike still talk, but I wouldn't put any bets on him leaving Van Halen anytime soon! Even if he did go jam with Sammy while the rest of VH is taking time off, I don't see him leaving! Mike IS the backing voice of VH! Period! End of story! Without him (or Dave), it just ain't Van Halen! Wouldn't you all agree?

mike is a good bass player but his harmony is vanhalen,i think that is more important than anything.

Exactly. Getting Dave back would be pointless without Mike around.

Solo album aside, should it ever happen, Mike is the glue that keeps the band together, whether it be with his bass playing, harmonies, or who knows what. I really do think that he's probably a major voice of reason within the band, but we just don't see or hear of it because everything is centered around Ed and Al, mostly Ed. I've met Mike in the past, and also judging from the many stories I've read about other people's experiences with him, he's an extremely affable guy. I can picture Mike as being the one guy to sit Ed down, slap him upside his head (hypothetically), and say "Dude! C'mon, man! Think about it!", y'know?

I just checked Mike's site. There are a couple of recent updates on there, one mentioning his appearance at NAMM, the other wishing everyone a happy holiday. Mike's site was last updated December 21. Here's the link Mad Anthony's Cafe. I'm not reading too much into this rumour...

“And what we have at our fingertips is arguably one of the greatest high tenor voices ever – that was in Michael Anthony. In our tiny little corner of the universe, that voice is as identifiable as the high voice in Earth, Wind & Fire, as identifiable as the high voice in the Beach Boys. Van Halen is an indelicate house blend of both – that’s intentionally. So I would always look forward to that reunion.” - David Lee Roth

It's was posted earlier but I'll post it again... background vocals. Enough said. VH needs Mike as much as they need Dave. It's all-for-one and one-for-all.

Yes. More Mike vocals on VH3 would have made many fans MUCH happier with the record...

That's right, Mike is a lifer with VH! I wouldn't have it any other way.
