The more bootlegs I collect from this tour, the mo I starts diggin' this a here era. I wish JB could've toured, tho. An' I'd rather have Billy or Matt than Todd J playin' the TOOMMM!!(bass) but the original EEAS drumma waz there with a massive Bonham sized kit. I think Roth sounded vocally like a hurricane bein' forced thru a straw. He didn't sound like '81, but he still could rnb belt it out like he did on ALAE.

I'm not sho how many gigs he played stateside, but the shows I've obtained from the European tour have been a wang dang doodle FO SHO!!!!!! I watched a gig from Sweden yesterday an' I heard somethin' I'd never heard 'fore. DLR sang a lil' Police, a lil' A doo doo doo A dah dah dah Iz all I want to say to you...otha cool jive included DLR an' Tugg tradin' lines from Muddy Waters' Got My Mojo Workin' and DLR even quoted that ol' rnb Stones and Who classic raveup,"Fortune Teller" durin' HFT.

Diamond Dave played some bluesy harmonica during jams in Beautiful Girls & Hammerhead Shark. AWEZM!! An' his sweet tooth boogie intro was incredible as usual, including some down home acoustic slide an' a snippet of da Full Bug intro...anybody hear me preachin' to tha choir one time??????

Great setlists indeed an' the usual DLR trademark vaudevillian ol' school entertainin'...

I've never heard any boots from that tour, but I would like to. I caught his performance of "Tell The Truth" on Letterman in '91 and I thought he actually did a great job. In my opinion, Dave's voice is better suited to the bluesy numbers, at least in the last 10 years or so. ALAE is either my first or second favorite DLR solo album.

I have audio recording of the Stockholm show from that tour and I've heard few mp3'd songs too. Killer stuff!

ALAE tour was the last tour to feature Dave in *classic* form in my opinion. He has not been able to top that ever since, unfortunately

I got 3 more ALAE shows today, Dublin, Newcastle and Amsterdam...I'll keep my previously stated opinion of that tour though

The guitarist has few troubles, butin general he does the job well...gotta love those bluesy fills here and there

Hey, can you post a setlist? I'd love to see what he did on that tour.

    Thanks!

I saw him in Dublin on that tour - Roth was great (of course!!!) - the band weren't bad, but they weren't baaad either, know what I mean.

I agree with 'Damn Good' - it was the last tour w/DLR as a bona fide 'Rock Star' - how sad his decline was from '94 onwards!!!!

I think he was in great form in '99, openin' for a re-united Bad Company(British blues rock legends). An' I think he was a mean motor scooter and a bad go getter in '01!!!!!!

What happend to the bootleg forums 'round here?? It's so quiet you could hear a rat piss on cotton.

I think the actitivity center is nowadays at VH Trade Forums .

It's definitely true what you said of '99 DLR Band tour, Loons, but he performed mostly on small venues and I just think Dave deserves big crowds. I'd love to see him perform at few festivals this summer in Europe...
