Can anyone point me to a site that offers tips on how to transfer tape boots to CD-R's? Specifically, I'm looking for software that will allow me to divide the tape into different track numbers but still be able to burn it to disc as one continuous show (i.e., burn using DAO to avoid 2 seconds gaps).

    Thanks.

I dont know if this will help Red.. but I've always transferred tapes to CD-R "manually". Let the tape roll and add the track when the song's complete.. my Philips burner allows me to do this DAO... and lets you fade when the tape ends on each side.

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND RUNNING THE TAPE THROUGH AN EQUALIZER.. IT ALLOWS YOU TO TAKE OUT THE TAPE HISS(nice!) AND, OF COURSE, BRING UP THE LEVEL.. IT MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE!!! THE SOUND QUALITY ON MY CD-R'S HAS IMPROVED GREATLY!

    Ummm.. You lost me

Are you making a long (e.g., 45 min) track from a cassette and then dividing it up into individual song tracks?

    What software are you using?

Oh.. Ok, now I understand what he's doing.

I'm able to pipe my tape deck directly into my PC. So, I guess I'll just have to store a huge 45 min track on my HD and then divide it up into individual tracks.

What software do you guys use for burning various tracks with DAO?

Yeah, Red.. what uncle ted said..

I guess that was the long way of saying I've never heard of the software your're looking for! I asked a friend.. he said he get back to me if he finds out.

A forum reader was kind enough to email me a link with some very useful information for making CD-R's from LP/tape.

    Check this out!
