Ok here is the deal. Im looking around the net, and I happen to stumble upon a Vh bootlegs website. WHOLLY SHIT, i thought I had all there was to have in terms of VH music. What I was wondering was:

    1. Is this legal?

    2. If it is(or if it isn't), where could I buy some from?

    3. Are bootlegs worth the money?

    4. Is the quality good, or are all the sounds shitty?

    5. Do any of you have bootlegs and if so which ones?

    Thanks guys.

Ok this should probably be in the "Bootleg Network" Forum and I'm gonna move it after I answer.

Well it is legal to buy them, it's called "collecting" which is legal under US law. It is illegal to sell them though. So go figure. You can buy them, but can't sell them, not that that makes any sense. It is legal to trade them as well.

Try local swap meets, local records stores not connected to a chain, Ebay has a ton of them, guys on here are willing trade, and check our database for a list of sites that trade boots, there are a lot!

Depends how much you love the band I guess.

Some are good, some are bad. I mean you're never going to get studio quality bootlegs, so don't expect that.

Too many to name, but I'm sure there are those willing to list some of theirs.

trading bootlegs isn't really legal - it's considered to be making a profit from copyrighted material. But no one has ever been prosecuted for small scale trading as far as I know. I certainly haven't

Look around at http://www.riaa.com for their interpretation of the legalities of bootleg trading.

    I love bootlegs, though I only have a few. The local shop here carries very few of them, so my collection isn't near as huge as some. I assume you are referring to the www.vhboots.com site. I love to cruise over to that site and check out the goodies. Reminds me of when I was a kid and would check out the Christmas catalogues when they came out. That site is great for getting to know how good the sound is on a boot. That way if you have the chance to get one, you'll know ahead of time a bit about how it will sound. Some faves of mine;
The December 20, 77 show (thanks Greg). There are several versions of this boot.
    Fresno 79.
    London Invasion 80.
    VH Assaults Quebec 84
    Secret Gig
    Wolfgang Attack 98 (thanks Greg)
