I usually put those labels onto my CD boots.. they look nice and semi-professional.. but..

..the loading motor on my car's CD player wore-out!!! CD's won't go in or out without a fight! A tech said the label, although it's small, adds width to the CD.. and "damaged the unit".

do these labels screw everybody?? or do I just have a crappy SONY product?

I'm going to say it's your unit.

    What does your wife say??

    Oh, that is rich! (hahaha!)

Cereally, I think it's your Sony. I also have a Sony player in my car and have had not too many problems with cd's I've put labels on. Just my humblest of opinions...

Sorry Steve...didn't mean to bust on ya too bad there!

It's probably your player...and your "problems" vary from disc to disc with different players. For instance, I have an original CD-R copy of "Unchained Love". The discs came printed with pictures on them, but I had trouble playing them in my Powerbook. The weight of the labels caused the CD drive to make weird noises, and would only play to about halfway into a disc before crapping out. But those were the only discs I had problems with....BTW, the same discs worked fine in my Technics player...
