Did Van Halen ever play " Push Comes To Shove"? Does anybody have the Oakland 81 show (video) for sale?

We will never see the Oakland 81 video. Contrary to what you may have heard, the complete show is not in circulation. Many of us would have it by now and I'm sure you'd have a copy too. It's in the vault and looks like they lost the combo.

With all due respect, it was played live on the 81' Fair Warning tour.

I dont beleive we will ever see the 81' tour video. If we do someday, it will be long after the fact. IMO !

If it's out there?? someone's sitting on it and not talking. I remember about 5 years ago there was this chick claiming to have a full show on VHS from 1981. She put it up on e-bay and the bids went up to $1000 for it. Turns out she was full of shit, which everyone kinda suspected. That stuff will turn up someday and I'm sure someone will pay a shit load of money for it.

It's been rumored that PCTS has been played live, but no one has ever come across a recording of it. And no, the full-length Oakland '81 video has never been circulated.

Just for the record, these are the following DLR-era songs that were never played live:

    Could This Be Magic
    Dirty Movies
    When Push Comes To Shove
    One Foot Out The Door
Big Bad Bill (Is Sweet William Now)
    Top Jimmy
    Drop Dead Legs

Someone that knows a little bit more than me, should post a list of the Sammy and Gary era songs that were never played live.
"'DLR Band' means Dave, Lowery, and Ray. I named it that because it sounds more like a band then 'David Lee Roth', which just sounds like a person. When you hear 'David Lee Roth'--you think of a person. When you hear 'DLR Band'--you think of a band. Just like when you hear 'Eddie Van Halen' you think of a person, and when you hear 'Van Halen'--you think of David Lee Roth." - Diamond David Lee Roth

"If I had anything to say, I'd be the f*cking singer." - Edward Van Halen

One more thing.....I read somewhere that Pete Angelus or someone else involved with the '81 tour has the Oakland '81 master. He keeps it in a safe and says that it will never see the light of day unless a miracle happens to make him change his mind. The band does not have it and they are not even pursuing it legally. Anyone that says they have it is lying. It may get leaked someday, but not anytime soon.

    I own a video tape entitled Van Halen 1978 - 1984 . Here is the song/video listing.
"You Really Got Me" - cheesy lip synch recorded on the Gazarri's night club stage.
"Dance the Night Away" - band driving up to the venue, a short backstage segment and live footage of the band performing the song. Very cool.
"Hear About It later, So this is love, Unchained" - live 1981 Oakland show. What we're all talking about. These three songs are what makes this tape so valuable.
"Pretty Woman" - another cheesy lip synch from some foreign tv show. David can't lip synch for shit.
"Pretty Woman" - banned MTV video. David Lee production from hell.
"Jump, Hot for Teacher, Panama" - the MTV Videos we've seen a million times.
David Lee Roth 1985 interview from Late Night with David Letterman. Very profetic in that David denies the band is breaking up.
"California Girls" - David Lee MTV video

One day, when DVD burners are more affordable, I'll burn this to DVD and can send out copies. I'm in the process of purchasing another VCR so I can make some VHS copies to send out. I'll keep you posted when I can make them available.

vhjay, i saw the '81 fair warning tour in kalamazoo, mi (wings stadium) and they definitely played 'one foot out the door'. i think it was the first show of the tour and don't know if they played it again.

Someone here has gotta have "ATCWR" on video or DVD because I've seen a live performance of it where Eddie is playing the frankenstein and wearing Adidas sneakers. DLR is in a really ridiculous outfit and it looks like they're lip-synching. I think a friend of mine downloaded it and it was labeled "BBC show", "Top of the Pops" or something like that. I'm guessing it was on some British TV show.
