Long time lurker, just wanted to say hello. I have been a fan from the beginning. I like DLR, Sammy, and yes, even Gary. I have grown up listening to Van Halen and they have grown with me, and that is what I love about them. Believe it or not, I am looking forward to a fourth singer. DLR was great while I was a youngster-the flamboyant showmanship, exciting on stage acrobats. Sammy took me through high school and most of college, great lyrics, great voice, even had some of the cheese played at my wedding. Now as I am approaching my 30's, two kids, wife minivan etc, I looking for the next stage in the Van Halen Evolution. Gary did not quite fit in but I enjoyed the music nonetheless. Looking forward o the next step in the evolution, hopefully that will not be a step backward.

So you really liked those Black Sabbath albums from the late 80's huh?

Or the Deep Purple albums with practically no original members?

Or the fake Journey, fake Styx, fake Skynyrd faker than fucking fake Creedence "any state fair for a buck" tribute bands that litter the landscape every summer?

Because it sounds like that's what you want "Van Halen" to become.

Not me. I would rather they ceased to exist at all than to become a joke like any above.

    Welcome back, Van HALEN!!!!

...It's the BAND and Dave is really the cat that can front VH. He sang his ASS off and was really cool. No cheese here guys, this is filet Mignon! - Steve Lukather's comment after witnessing a Van HALEN 2007 rehearsal

    He did a good job.......

    ...of sounding like Steve Perry.

They should have just kept the name "Bad English" if they were going to have any singer other than Steve Perry.

In the end it doesn't matter, because Journey started blowing donkey dicks the minute Jonathan Cain joined the band.

Now get me another album by Perry/Schon/Rolie/Valory/Smith (the TRUE Journey) and I might be interested.

Wecome stick, it's always great to see a fan who appreciates all era's of VH.

These types of topics usually belong in Non-Music though, so i'm moving this topic there.
