Whatever happen to Ed's Frankenstrat? I know he has his Wolfgang now but does anyone know if he still has the Frankenstrat or not?

Last I heard Ed still has it and was planning on using it for a song or two during the Balance tour but never did.

Yeah, he's probably got it. Ed still wishes he had his first guitar, so taking that into consideration, I suppose he'd never get rid of the "Frankenstrat", of which was made by him! Man, that guitar is an institutional legend. It should be in the Smithstonian instution! I have an old issue of I believe Guitar world, and they interview Ed about it, and he just tossed it into the bed of his pickup. But, you know deep down inside, it must mean a lot to him.

the frankenstrat oughta be the freaking logo for the rock n roll hall of fame, along with mc cartney's bass or page's les paul. but i can't think of an instrument so distinctive in all of rock. the custom work, the rough look/ treatment, and versatility. that strat stood for rock for a decade - often immitated, never duplicated.

    We're sick. That's all I can say.

I see you're posting on Christmas day and I'm here the day after (at least I have an excuse…I’m Jewish) on a forum site for a band that for all intense and purposes is washed up...we should be institutionalized immediately!

I guess we're just die hards and we’ll never let go...but it's just so painful.

    Did I tell you I bought a P.A.?

Yes, Eddie still has his Frankenstrat.
"I could call it anything, but the only word I can think of is Brown. It's just a warm sound. Warm, big, majestic" - Eddie Van Halen on his Tone

"Van Halen is definitely a ladies band, and I´ve got the Polaroids to prove it". - David Lee Roth

WOLFGANG did the IMPOSSIBLE, he brought back VAN HALEN, DEAL WITH IT.
