Grover brings you yet another update from Launch...

Cherone Predicts Van Halen Hagar Roth Reunion For Rock Hall

Former Van Halen vocalist Gary Cherone has resurfaced in Tribe Of Judah, but he still keeps in touch with Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony. It was Anthony who got Cherone and second Van Halen vocalist Sammy Hagar together earlier this year.

Rumors have been circulating that Van Halen was going to tour with all three vocalists next year. LAUNCH asked Cherone about any such reunion. "I think that's crazy. I think 2003 probably brings the 25th anniversary of VH, which makes them eligible for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. I personally think Sammy's the next move. Maybe at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame you'll see Sam and Dave, since they did the tour together, and that would be great. If I was a part of it, I'd probably introduce them. I wouldn't be a part of it. It was an aberration, me and the band. It was a great three years. I wish we could have done more."

Hagar celebrated his birthday on Sunday (October 13), capping off a week-long celebration that started October 4 in his Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Hagar's birthday moves stateside on Saturday (October 19) with a show at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas at the Joint.

Meanwhile, all this week Hagar will be on the game show Hollywood Squares. His stint ends Friday (October 18).

"Keep honking buddy. I'm reloading..." -The Mard

    "......HEY!.............alright............." -BIG FOOT

" I know what you're thinking: "Do I want to watch Mard? We know that horses were very strong and could actually stop airplanes from flying away. The ones made out of stone called "statues" -- occasionally came to life and rode off is a colonial cliche. How many more times do we need to hear about how the oppressive Raj's wore villainous black capes, crafted cunning plastic masks to impersonate people, and drained all the blood from their slaves so they could keep the fluid in bottles in their dungeons? I mean, YAWN!

But if you're willing to sit through this dry sort of historical drama one more time -- or even just this dry historical review -- you will not be disappointed. In fact, some of you might just learn something they didn't teach you in school!-

I agree. Cherone and Anthony are probably the two nicest guys in this saga. It's to bad that they're the two guys who got crapped on the most as well.

What a classy statement by Mr. Gary Cherone. He has the opportunity to sneak into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by taking advantage of his history with Van Halen. But instead, he will do the correct thing. He realizes that his inclusion in the band was nothing more than an experiment that went bad. After reading his statement, I have nothing but respect for Mr Cherone....... Very cool move dude, very cool..

Cherone, while not a great fit with Van Halen is a class act. Check out the new TOJ music - very cool.

The only person who seems to understand the Van Halen legacy appears to be Gary and he was treated like shit by 90% of the fanbase. It was pathetic IMO. I hope he is successful with TOJ, guy deserves it.

Gary is as classy as you all think he is.
Having talked to him on various occasions, he is the most down to earth celebrity that I have EVER met in my life.
He is the type of person that will actually look you in the eyes as he talks to you, not one of those room scanning phoneys.

Plus get over the "gay" labeling all you bashers. He is not gay. He has a different approach in his performance than some may like. But he is no way gay.
Just because he doesn't wear spandex and ass-less chaps on stage, I guess people might think HE'S gay.

actually gary doesn't have much of choice. he wouldnt be inducted with VH no matter what. they have a certain rule about that. earlier this year when The Ramones were inducted CJ wasnt included because he hadnt been with the band long enough or during the main part of their career - even though he was there from 1992 to 1996 and on 3 studio albums with them....

i'd just have to second what everyone is saying about gary. he's right, it is a shame it didn't work out. and the rest of the band better make damn sure he's in cleveland with them, even if he'd not inducted, only because gary put up with so much crap for being in van halen, and he never snapped or acted in an unprofessional manner. too bad more of the fans couldn't have welcomed him.

Gary appears to be a normal dude, but then , compared to the rest of the goons in VH, that isn't very hard to do.............

I have been impressed with Gary's post-VH attitudes. I feel bad for trashing him for VHIII - it wasn't his fault.
