Ray did an online chat this evening. Flufferchick at the army posted this about it:

-------------------------
Ray starting drumming at age 6

- he wears a size 11 shoe

- he had to leave after two hours to go to rehersal

- he thinks of Dave as a bro and a great boss

- loves working with Dave; they have lots of fun

- Bob Rock, Lars and Kirk had NOTHING to do with the DVD. They were just there at the same time Dave was

- they are working on a new DLR Band CD; Dave is producing with some outside help but Dave is definately the boss.

- they are rehersing more 'older' tunes and a few more DLR solo tunes for the tour. Ray mentioned "A Little Ain't Enough".

- Bart is OUT of the band. Toshi is working studio stuff and Ray wouldn't say who the new guitar player is. Wouldn't say what happened with Bart. Said he stays out of the politics.

- Dave fills him in on everything regarding the VH reunion

- Dave and Sammy met about a week and a half ago

- They ARE talking seriously about doing a big tour together

- The DVD will be released 'June-ish' and by a big company

- It's a BIG no on the VH reunion, for now

- He's a really nice guy!!!

Ray is a great drummer! It's good that we now have another person that confirmed that Sammy and Dave are talking about the tour together.

I wonder who the mystery guitar player is? Seems like it isn't Bart, Toshi or Eddie ( )

I met Ray after the KC gig last year about an hour or so after the show. He's really approachable and loved to talk music. Met him again the next morning checking out at the casino's hotel and he was just as friendly.

And the guy can play his ass off. Dave knows he's got a winner in this guy.

This is hardly surprising. What's he gonna say, "Dave's a whackjob"???

That's OUR job!!!

The 'Dave is producing' part doesn't give me a good feeling, but I look forward to hearing some new music from DLR.

- Bart is OUT of the band. Toshi is working studio stuff and Ray wouldn't say who the new guitar player is.
Does this mean Toshi isn't going on the road? Or is there going to be two guitarists?

- Dave fills him in on everything regarding the VH reunion
Mentioning that is a surefire way to fill up your inbox!!!

Now, the next question? Is Lomenzo still on bass or could it be....... nah, that's too much too hope for. Still all indications at the time were that Billy Sheehan could have been available for the 98 tour, had Lowery not defected to the no-talent camp.

Glenn,
somehow I don't think Ray would be working with Dave for this long if he truly thought Dave was a whackjob. *L*

</font>
Yep. Ray said he hadn't heard anything from Dave about meeting with Steve. He also said that Dave is keeping him informed about everything - well at least everything VH related. Wish he had given some kind of hint though. Hmmmmmm.

Thanks for posting the info. I wonder what company decided to release the DVD. As for the VH reunion, that sucks but it's not surprising. What is surprising, is that all the news comes from Ray and not Dave. I was glad to see that we may be hearing some different DLR solo tunes on the next tour.
