    thought you'd like to know......

they were talking about the worst interviews ever on the show - and I think Gary reminded Howard how VH was on and didn't want to play. So Howard said something like, "Yeah, Eddie Van Halen, nice guy, but, man, you'd ask him a questioned and he'd walk away from the microphone and stuff. I'm really a big fan of his incredible musical ability, but, boy he was just out of control."

Bad that they were mentioned in this light, but real good in that Howard gave Ed his props.

I remember that show. Ed was not about to play anything serious. I think playing a song would have been dorky anyway. Just hearing the guitar was good enough for me.

Man I remember that show, it was funny too because EVH did just what Stern said he did. I felt sad for Ed because he seemed real dumbwitted like a space cadet.

Self to Note: I can't beleive I just said that about Ed ...

Well like all major media outlets, Howard is going to want a piece of the VH action. Of course he won't badmouth Eddie and the boys. That will be huge ratings for anybody once the reunion is announced.

Remember when Stern offered to pay 3 million dollars for VH to write and record a song for his movie? Only catch was that it had to be done with DLR on vocals! Nice try Stern!

huh? They said they would and then wouldn't do it. Didn't Eddie play Panama with some intern or something, that was pretty dorky.

I heard the Stern show this morning too. One thing that you left out was that Howard also said that Eddie was "The Greatest Guitarist Ever".

Mine All Mine: HEY, LAMA! How about a little something, you know, for the effort?

i remember that interview - think i have it on tape somewhere. eddie didn't have time to properly sound check his amp, and he was real nervous. so, ed was trying to get some sort of tone so he could at least fool around. old howie freaks out when he's not in control, so that made the interview a little tense because all eddie was interested in was his amp and not bullshitting, which is ALL howard is ever interested in.

Eddie presented him with a wolfgang that day, for cryin' out loud! His heart was in the right place, but Eddie really is not a media whore in the least.

    Jonathan, you're right.

If Stern did offer $3 million, to VH, wonder if they'd still take him up on the offer once they're officially back together? Maybe a song for the "Fartman" soundtrack (if the movie happens)?

Stern didn't offer them money. He wanted the band w/ Roth to do a song for his movie soundtrack and the band wanted like 1-2 million to do a song.

I got a question for you guys. I only saw the segment with VH on Howard's E! tv show. Was there more that was on the radio broadcast than what was on the tv show?
