Where did you see this at VHND? He doesn't have the "rumors" link up anymore.

Not that it isn't possible, but where on VHND can we read this for ourselves?

Thanks FH,
I just needed to refresh the page. I was still on the December 17th update.

But I see didin't see where he was told that by a "trusted friend". But I did like the thought of maybe Mike bringing him up there and jamming. Kind of like when they first got together and "Summer Nights" was immediately born.

I assumed that when Ed said at NAMM something along the lines of "wanting to make music that stands the test of time" that he was taking a shot at the Hagar years. Maybe not.

What on Earth would lead you to believe he would be doing that? 5150 is nearly 18 years old, I still love it and play it all the time.......

I will have to say that some of Van Hagar doesn't stand the test of time as well as the classic lineup, IMHO. By Eddie making that comment, I thought he may have been hinting at not being happy with some of the older material looking back and doesn't want to make that mistake again. Add the fact that he was unhappy with Hagar's lyrics. Complete speculation on my part.

I think he was refering to the lineup standing the test of time IE not breaking up after one album (VH III anyone?). Ed wants to make this next lineup the last lineup of the band.

I don't think the Sammy rumour is true.

I think Eddie's comments at NAMM prove that he doesn't want anything to do with reuniting with Dave OR Sam.

Ed doesn't want to play a one-off reunion show or even a reunion tour. He just wants a fulltime band again.

And Sam can't give him that. Sammy has said it himself that although he sees them getting back together somewhere down the line for a show or even a tour, but not full-time again.

To tell you the truth, I think Sammy enjoys doing his solo thing and projects like Planet US more then being a fulltime lead singer of a band like Van Halen.

And I think Eddie's fear is that Sam will say he wants to do another solo album and tour while being in VH. To Ed, he doesn't want his singer to have a solo thing within VH. It has always bugged him.

So, I don't think this rumour holds much clout.
