This is in the Week In Weird section at rollingstone.com:

"While we've gotta admit we used to visualize some members of Van Halen moving on to useful careers involving auto parts, or at least windshield washing, we never harbored such thoughts about jolly old Michael Anthony. As such, we're pleased as punch to hear that the bassist has found his niche slightly further up the automotive food chain, having won a customization competition in Las Vegas with a chopped and channeled Ford Thunderbird that caught the eye of the company's execs, who'll produce a limited-edition run of the vehicle in 2003. Strangely, despite the rig's smooth, shiny dome, it's not named in honor of Anthony's old pal Dave Lee Roth . . ."

Here's a link: Rolling Stone Slams VH. That's it, I'm cancelling my subscription to what used to be a pretty cool magazine. Anyone else who subscribes to this piece of shit and considers themselves a Van Halen fan should do the same. Once and for all, Rolling Stone sucks!

I didn't need to be a Van Halen fan to know "Rolling Stone" sucked. It's been a rag for over a decade now.

I've gotta admit that even though Rolling Stone is mostly junk, I found that bit pretty funny. DLR leaves himself open to stuff like that with the way he acts in public.

Funny that Mike restored a FORD.

I think the whole thing is pretty funny.

Mike customizes a "FORD" and Dave gets slammed for it. Of course, only in VH internet land does the irony of that become apparent

Fuck Rolling Stone...they wouldn't know good music if it shit on them. Any magazine that pans Led Zeppelin, or disses a band like VH can blow me. Although we all know both of those bands have been on the cover many, many times.

Fuck that piece of shit trash rag! Those jack-offs will be workin' their way in hard to get on the tit of anything Van Halen ever does again, and hopefully the milk will be dry before they can fight their way in for a suck.

Without a record company to answer to, VH doesn't have to bow down to the corporate bullshit, do MTV, do VH1, do Rolling Stone. Fuck 'em all anyway. Let 'em take that hip-hop rot and teeny bopper skank of the day bullshit and see how stupid they look next week. What a sad state of affairs. I want my old school Circus and Creem mags back, that's for sure.

Van Halen can do the TV loop, Letterman, Leno, Kilbourn, Conan, and I'm sure Jon Stewart would have them back in any form, since he's the only guy to ever get them on regular TV as far I can remember. That will be plenty of press. And if they feel the need to do magazine interviews, there are plenty of alternative mags that do cover real music by people who write and sing their own shit.

Rolling Stone, that shit ain't fit to wipe an ass with. RS needs to come up for air from its non-stop 69 with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, open up their eyes real wide, and look at what a fucking joke they are now.

People, the 6 wings of the Mighty Van Halen will fly again! Can You Dig It?

And underneath the arch, it turned into a march,
and there He found a spark to set this fucker off!
Set it off, set it off now children, set if off!

We are down the road! I Can Dig It! Can You?

I don't know any Van Halen fans that have had a subscription to Rolling Stone in almost a decade. Did they even mention the Hagar/Roth tour? Have they reviewed any of Hagar's music since 95? That rag sucks it is a pop mag for tweens.
