Pretty cool car!! Mike's many talents are often overlooked...

Best Of Show!
November 15, 2002

Michael and Bonspeed's Brad Fanshaw were on hand at the SEMA show in Las Vegas last week where their 2002 Ford Thunderbird took Best Of Show honors in a customizing competition sponsored by Ford. Only a handful of these cars were given to designers across the nation whom Ford selected as having the best design ideas. Michael and Brad's design was such a hit that Ford will be producing a limited edition run that will be available through your local dealer in 2003!

Bonspeed designed this automobile to have attitude and Steve Saleen (creator of the Saleen Mustang) provided the muscle.

To achieve this attitude, Bonspeed crafted a new front and rear fascia, side rocker panels, a hard tonneau, dual roll bars and twin wings. Performance muscle and braking is handled by Saleen who developed a 400hp drive train and fitted large diameter brakes.

Here are some specs on the Saleen/Bonspeed Edition Thunderbird:

Base Vehicle:
2002 Ford Thunderbird
32-valve V8
5-speed manual transmission

Powertrain/Exterior Features:
Bonspeed front and rear-styled fascias
Extended rocker panels
Custom hard tonneau and twin wings
Billet aluminum grill by Lil John Buttera
BASF bright silver paint
US Wheel forged alloy wheels 18" X 8" front and 19" by 10" rear
Pirelli 255/45ZR-18 front, 275/35ZR-19 rear tires
Air Ride Technology suspension
Borla stainless steel exhaust
Saleen fitted large diameter brakes

Interior Features:
Bonspeed designed custom interior stitched by Ron Mangus
Recaro seats
Sony audio system
Woke up this mornin, got Blue Moon in your eyes...

What do you mean by old? Pintostangs of the 70's? Um no. The 60's? Yes those are cool. Anything from 1971-1981 is a completely worthless era of Mustang history.

And I have 2001 GT, it is the most well-made and well-designed generation of any Stang. Car is far better and more dependable than the pile of shit Z28 I had 5 years ago. How many cars do you know of where you can get 260 horses for about $20K? Because that's what an unloaded GT runs about.

That's alright my friend. I'm really not to hip when it comes to sports cars, I just generally hate Ford products. With the climate here, ie. the winters and due to the fact that I ski alot I can only own a four wheel drive. So I am very partial to Chevrolet. I have a '98 1/2 Ton Suburban with a 350 Vortec. It works for me. So, I'll lay off the Mustake jokes bro. To each his own, and we better get this thing back on topic. Peace.

You can rag the Stangs, I can take it.

Oh BTW, Fords suck massive balls, I would never own a Ford normally and can't believe I do. But to me the Mustang is its own animal ya know. I have only owned a few American cars ever anyway, this Stang, my Z28, and a Firebird Formula. Apart from musclecars I would never own one. My wife was way against the idea of us owning a Fucked Over Road Disaster, believe me.
