Is anyone hearing more VH w/Sam than VH w/Dave anywhere?
Around here (Just north of Buffalo, New York)we can get 3 stations that play VH on a regular basis. I would have to say in the last 2 months I'm hearing VH w/Dave about 10-1 to VH w/Sam. (with the exeception of 2 VH weekends on 2 different stations recently) If a station plays 2 VH songs it is usually 2 Dave songs. If they play a block of 3 or 4 VH songs maybe 1 is with Sam. I was wondering what it is like elsewhere.

It's been all Roth here. Haven't heard much of anything in the Hagar department in quite a while on the radio here, then again...I rarely listen to the radio.

Uh, yup I think that is about the trend everywhere now. All the radio stations are jumping on the Dave is back with Van Halen rumors.

For the most part, radio stations don't increase certain airplay by an artist becuase of rumors running rampant on the internet. But, we're all human, so I guess if a program director is a big VH fan, the band may be on his or her mind, so he spins VH a few more times with DLR at the helm.

I think it's just that we're all a little sensitive to the issue and we're just noticing things a lot more. All of the speculation over the Dodge Commercial and The Gateway Commercial are just pure coicidence.

    But that's just my take......

So far as I can tell, air time for Van Hagar and Van Roth in my neighborhood is nearly even...

The radio station out of Peoria Il. is playing TONS of VH (they always have been ggreat at playing VH) . Just the other day they played Me Wise Magic...which I have not heard on the radio in well over a year! But I do agree that it is pretty balanced in the Sam and Dave era's. any VH is better than no VH ..right?

WRTT 94.5 here in Huntsville is really banging out the VH w/ Roth songs, I'd say around 3/4 per day.

Here in Wlimington, NC it's almost ALL Roth. For every 10 Roth songs, they play 1 from the Sammy era. Allthough I like all 3 incarnations of VH, I have always been partial to the classic stuff with Dave, so it's good for me!

I not saying that around here (Buffalo) they are playing more VH than they did a year ago. I just noticed lately that they play a lot more VH/Dave than VH/Sam. A year ago it was about even between the two.

2 schools of thought on this one...

    1. Stations ARE actually playing more VH, particularly VH w/DLR in hopes of creating a buzz about the upcoming and highly anticipated reunion & new CD.

    2. Stations are actually NOT playing any more VH than they were before. It's just that we are all so hyped up for something new from the band we notice VH anytime it's on the airwaves, giving the impression they (stations) are playing it a lot more.

I hope more stations are playing VH regardless. It can only HELP get more people listening, right?

This is similar to an earlier topic started by yourstruly.
But VH/Dave era is by far getting alot more airplay here. I heard a live version of Sam's "both sides now" last week. it was cool.

That seems to be the trend in Chicago. I listen to the radio quite a bit and it seems like the 2 main rock stations (97.9 & 96.7) are really playing a lot of Dave tunes.
