I have been to over 300 shows, and I just barely purchased my most expensive pair of tickets, at 185.25 for David Lee Roth in Verona NY.....

I called Turning Stone and they told me that the total seating for this place is only 800 seats.
Even if Dave gets ALL the money from ticket sales, at an average of $75./seat, that's only $60,000.

This doesn't seem like much, does it!??!
Or does the casino pay him a specific amount to come play??

I think they actually work out to about $48./ea after all the fees they add in.
    But, I don't know why they're 1/2 the price?!?!

    Promoter, insurance (especially after Warwick,RI),
security crew, the band, any extras like dancers, stage crew, transportation, the Casino gets their portion of the door, advertising, taxes, tour rider items like food, brew, all that comes out of that ticket price

I think it's great that Dave is playing a place of this size. A commitment to venues that hold this many would be a great way for Dave to reestablish himself. With a fair ticket price, I think Dave could pull back into a reasonable split between his VH material, his past solo stuff and some new solo stuff. But I just don't see it happening at that price. At that price people are going to be expecting (which is Dave's fault anyway for doing it so many times these last few years) the guaranteed sting of the Van Halen show.

By the way--if you order your tickets directly from the Turning Stone Box Office (1-877-833-SHOW), I'm pretty sure you avoid Ticketmaster surcharges--the operator there said my ticket was $85 even.
