Has anybody seen this before? I watched it last night and there was a fairly long piece about Van Halen on it. A lot of artists like John Mellencamp, Marilyn Manson, Dave Grohl, and Brett Michaels talked about them and their videos from 1984. Marilyn Manson sucks even more than I thought because he said everything after the DLR era was just a Van Halen cover band. But it was nice seeing people talk about how good VH was.

Yeah if you want to count his opinion on rock and roll. Manson is done and IMO never really mattered in the history of rock anyhow. As for VH with Sammy they kicked ass. Can you honestly say that eat em and smile even compares to the great album that 5150 is? I can't believe that. Bon Jovi my ass.

Marylin Manson?! LMFAO!!! Now THERE'S the definitive authority on "sucking". Still, he... she... IT is living proof that shock value alone, and a good marketing strategy, can make you a very rich person indeed, even if you have ZERO talent.

I'm glad that Manson doesn't like Van Hagar, because he has no talent, and the opinion of a talentless freak like Manson is doesn't matter.

Aren't you the same dude who always gets REALLY pissed when people call DLR's current band a "cover band"?

But it's OK to call the Hagar era of Van Halen a Van Halen "cover band," right?

Yes, since when has MM held the ability to reason with any degree of relevance? I gladly admit that I have enjoyed all three eras of Van Halen. For MM to make any claim that Van Hagar was merely a "cover band" surely would contain assumptions that are contradictory by his own standards! While some may espouse Manson as being a entertaining performer, there is certainly little advice I would seek from him!

Argue all you want, but in the cold light of day, van hagar WAS a cover band, deal with it.

And EEAS ROCKS like a Motherfucker compared to 5150.
