Sammy was just on Mitch Album, through telephone speaking about the state of MTV with Dee Snider. Interesting things he said were that when 5150 was released they didn't do videos because they wanted people to get an image of them by their live shows not a music video.

Sammy was not exactly honest. They avoided videos for 5150 because they could never compete with Dave. Dave owned MTV at that time (with the exception of the ripoff of the 1986 video awards). If what Sammy said was true, then they would not have started videos with the very next album, which included the very gay-looking INXS ripoff video for "Feels So Good" -- the worst pre-Cherone VH song.

"Feels So Good" -- the worst pre-Cherone VH song.

Buddy take another listen, That song is probably one of Ed's most underrated solo's. It is almost a perfect solo start to finish.

Thay have addressed that before also. I think it was also a timetable question, becouse the tour was allready booked, when the album came out.

Smokin 5150 - That is not true. There is almost a 6 million difference between their sales at that time. Dave was second string immediately after the release of 5150 and its hold at #1 for three straight weeks. 5150 was the punch that put Dave's solo career staggering, OU812 put him to the canvas, and by the release of FUCK, Dave was no longer able to compete in the Heavyweight ring.

Even though i hate to admit it...because i am DLR VH fan but i agree with you Georgie...Van Hagar kept putting out hits and great albums while DLR struggled to keep his head above water...

But a DLR VH reunion would kick everybody's ass

I have always thought that Cabo: Feels So Good has arguably one of the BEST EVH solos EVER IMHO....That solo SMOKES!!!! Even if it does not entirely fit in with the feel of the rest of the song. (Though I am one of the rare people here who really likes Feels So Good)

Just my humble opinion, but "Feels so Good" is a great song. Granted, the video was a bit of a rip off but the song is fantastic! Did anybody else dig the clip with the flipping motor bike? Regarding the guitar solo, I particularly enjoy the fact that it is somewhat of a departure in terms of its sonic quality. Anyone else with me on this?

Since this thread's topic has shifted to Feels So Good, I'll give my opinion. I think it's one of the best songs on OU812 and the solo is awesome.

Feels So Good is a great great tune IMO. The solo is perfect, the keyboard tone was perfect, I just wished that the second verse was longer.

OU812 is a great album altogether I think. There are some really simple tunes on it, but it works great with the overall feel of the album.

The Solo in Cabo is fantastic, as is the rhythm playing underneath it.

Mine All Mine is also a killer tune, great feel!

I also like the keyboard tone on "Feels So Good." Song is kinda poppy but it's still pretty good. How come a guitar hero can make a keyboard sound better than most of those fools that called themselves "keyboardists" in the 80's?
