Sammy Hagar & Bob Weir Set For Holiday Benefit

Sammy Hagar and Bob Weir will play a holiday benefit concert Monday (December 23) in San Rafael, California. Weir, with Ratdog bassist Rob Wasserman, and Hagar, with Waboritas guitarist Vic Johnson, will perform individual acoustic sets, and they're also expected to perform together. The show takes place at New George's Nightclub, and will help the Ritter House and Homeward Bound agencies, both of which assist the underprivileged in that area. It's unknown whether or not any other special guests will be at the gig.

Tickets won't be sold for the show, but passes will be distributed that day starting at 3 p.m. PT to the first 400 people making a donation. Organizers are asking people not to bring food or toys--rather, gift certificates and phone cards are requested. The minimum amount is $25, and gift certificates should be from places that provide the greatest possible return for the "tots to teens" market, including Target, Old Navy, and Wal-Mart, among others.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. PT, and the show is set to start at 7 p.m. PT.
