Does anybody have any inside info about any major recording labels being interested in signing Van Halen?

Most of the majors must be well aware that Van Halen is somewhat back on the market.

What about VHForums Records...we'll all chip in $500 to get this next record out and about. Their are 6000 diehards that hand around in here and we could raise $3,000,000...

Just trying to raise some shit...ha ha

I would pay $500 to see a double cd of Dave, Ed, Alex and Mike again. I have a conspiracy theory about Dave and the band that goes like this:

Dave will eventually rejoin the almighty Van Halen in the future. I believe that Dave helped the others line out their problems with the contracts they were under quietly. They must make it look like they don't have a chance in hell of reuniting so whoever is holding the contract doesn't know this. Dave even sued for a frivilous amount of money to make it look good. I refuse to believe he did this out of spite or need of money.

Dave goofed when he revealed info about the knockem dead 3 tunes they already did, thus the downplay on Ed's part about them ever being released. I don't believe that Dave calling Ed Van Heinekin was out of line that far, just a ribbing between friends.

I do not have an explaination for the "Vagina Monologues" or the "Making a porn with Val" comments...It would be a stretch to say those were just all in good fun.

I just wish Dave would get off the drugs. That would help a lot. Dave, I want you to live forever man! Just say no...

Hey Executionor... I like your thoughts, especially because I am big into conspiracy theories. However, there are more efficient ways to fool someone who holds the reigns of a management/other contract into believing that VH and DLR will never reunite (for the duration of such a contract). Unfortunately, I think there has been too much mud slinging between VH and DLR for it to be an act. Their scars run deep. VH will never reunite with DLR. Ever.

At this point, I would be surprised if VH ever does anything again, with Dave, Sammy or whoever. I think they've disbanded, quietly. Actions speak louder than words, and a lack of anything new in 5 years speaks volumes.
Give me ambiguity or give me something else!

Face the music, my friends. Van Halen is never coming back, for reasons we may never know. At least that's what my gut tells me. What I don't understand is why we don't get the product that is always released when a band's career is finished. I want an official live album from the DLR era. I want a box set containing rare and unreleased tracks. I also want the lost album--the nine songs they recorded with Gary in 1999 that was to be an album called "Love Again". And, I want remastered versions of 5150, OU812 and FUCK. The version of Dreams on my 5150 CD sounds pathetic compared to the version on BOV1. And, by the way, where the hell is BOV2. There's certainly more than enough material for another hits collection. WB should wake up and release this stuff. I'm waiting with my wallet open.

Dart93, I 100% disagree with you.

The fact of the lack of silence in respect to material releases is a good sign of a willingness for future activity.

I also believe that Eddie is a very special musical force that will not drift away ala some other 80's bands. Van Halen are a very special group of musicians with either Sam or Dave, but especially with Dave. I believe 30 years from now, musicologists will realize the true greatest of Van Halen's 115 or so compositions. But I digress...because EVH is almost Miles Davis or Mozart like in his musical gift, the music will never stop flowing from his fingertips till the day he dies, and for that reason it is just a matter of time until we hear more "Van Halen" music. To me, Eddie Van Halen really is Van Halen, and although he loves many styles of music, straight ahead rock n' roll is his first and main true love and calling and we should get some more kick-ass music soon.

Come on, the guy almost lost his life over the last 2-3 years, and has subsequently lost his wife of 20 years, whom I'm sure he was very much in love with. Who knows, maybe the cause for the delay is simply the fact that Eddie knew he was losing Valerie over the last few years based around his alcoholism and couldn't bare to deal with anything else, never mind the recording of a new LP, the resolutions of legal contractual issues, and the planning of a 50 city tour. Fuck, the guy is 48 years old, I just don't think he can handle it all.

Also, what really pisses me off about his whole last 7 years is how many of us have turned our backs on one of our "heros". Man, this was the guy who wrote all those killer tunes that all of us cranked up in the car on our way to work on a Monday morning to get us through another boring week, this guy brought so many nights of sheer joy to our lives when he headed off to another Van Halen concert...all in all we should be positive, supportive, forgiving, and maybe a little less judgemental, reactive and hateful when it comes to guy who brought so much to our lives. I don't mean to get too sentimental but wake the fuck up people, doesn't Van Halen, David Lee Roth, Sammy Hagar & especially Eddie get the benefit of the doubt before we spew our thoughts that have really no basis of proof!!

You and many other fans of Van Halen's music are IMO just taking the easy way out here by proclaiming "VH is done"...because you are frustrated and impatient. At the NAMM show EVH stated he had been working on music for TV shows, and movies, so why is it such a stretch that he may return to the entity known as Van Halen? IMO it will happen, we all have to be patient and chill out. I think all of us should just kick back, pop open a cold beer and discuss the great VH back catalog we have so far. I have been listening to these 10 or so LP's for 25 years now, and you know what, I have never got bored with 95% of their music.

That is quite astonishing.

Almost EVH is on the same level as the musicians you stated, and in so many ways - not just a technical standpoint.

Van Halen is completed, concluded, down, ended, finished, terminated, through, all in, depleted, done in, drained, exhausted, far-gone, spent, used up, worn-out, and washed-up.

Why do they need a major label?

With just the Van Halen name alone they could sell 500,000 copies of anything they put out. Instead of a record company giving them a shitty 10 or 15%, which they would have to split with a manager and agent.......they could put it out under 5150 records and keep all the money.
Dave did it awhile back and I would bet he made more money doing it that way, than with a label.

That way, they could do what they want. And if they did get Dave back, then ad another bunch of sales and a successful world tour to boot.

No record label bullshit......just them and a distributor.
If they really are trying to get control of their lives, thats the way to do it.

I truly believe that the reason we have not heard anything from Van halen is because of legal problems with that asshole Danniels. If he has as much control over their past catalog as Sammy says in the chapters of that book, then they are screwed for awhile.
If it's true......they don't even have control over their name! They can not release product without his consent and nothing from the Vaults will be put out......like live shows or old tracks....until this is resolved.

Thats why I think Dave suing them right now will help van halens case against Danniels for control over the name and music. It could make the contract with Ray null and void.....which will bring them back to square one.......

When this is over I expect to be flooded with Van halen material......no matter what it is.

This frustration on Eddie and Alex could be the single reason Edwards life seems to have gone out of control.......I know if I had one of the biggest bands in the world that I had built from the start.......and then some jerk took everything away......I would drink, smoke crack.. kick the dog,...beat up the homeless, climb a water tower with a high powered rifle.....rape a goat........

Ok maybe I went a little too far.......but You get My point....

well everyone except Badabing.......

don't worry dude.......it's coming out as a picture book so You will understand.
