I just heard this rumor on the radio!

The local dj said he heard that Planet Us will be touring this summer with Sammy, Neal, Mike, and Slash. And the opening act will be no other than David Lee Roth!

He said he's going to try and contact Jeff from the Inside mag and get more info.

    mmmmmmmmmmmmmm....

If I hear more I'll post it!

The ones made out of stone called "statues" -- occasionally came to life and rode off is a colonial cliche. How many more times do we need to hear about how the oppressive Raj's wore villainous black capes, crafted cunning plastic masks to impersonate people, and drained all the blood from their slaves so they could keep the fluid in bottles in their dungeons? But if you're willing to sit through this dry sort of historical drama one more time -- or even just this dry historical review -- you will not be disappointed. In fact, some of you might just learn something they didn't teach you in school!-

That can't be right. The Waboritas are touring this summer. Planet Us was looking at a Spring 2003 tour, right?

You know damn well that Dave won't play second fiddle to Sammy.

If the tour happens they'll co-headline.

How could he argure with the numbers IF Sam is a bigger draw?

Side question - who was a bigger draw last year?

By not doing the tour. I don't see how it could be anything but co-headlining - neither Sam or Dave is going to put their ego aside after 15 years of mudslinging and implicitly admit the other is bigger. They'd do their own tours or hook up with someone else before that.

I'm pretty sure you're going to get two answers to this. So here is a third - absolutely no idea

I agree - I can't see either one wanting to "warm up" for the other...

I just wonder if the promoters would see it that way...?

They'll have to. It's that simple. Either they co-headline or it doesn't happen.

First thing first, I don't think a Sam and Dave Tour will ever happen.

Having said that, one could argue a lineup of Sam, Mike, Neal, Slash carries more weight than DLR solo and he could feel comfortable opening for them.

Plus, not to get nasty, but if the rumor that Dave is broke is true, he could stand to make a lot of money opening for Planet Us, or touring with Sam-solo for that matter, than touring alone...

Ummmm as far as everyone knows for a fact, and not some disc jokey bs, is that Journey and Sammy Hagar and David Lee Roth all have planned tours this summer.

And it IS relevant that Sam and Dave talked about touring together, no mention of Planet Us.

OK I will now shoot this rumor into the ground.

    http://www.journeymusic.com/

Journey are touring from april till september, although they do have most of may and june open.....but I seriously doubt any Planet Us tour is going to happen...

Also Hagar has a good chunk of May already booked... http://www.redrocker.com/

you can check their respective tour sections...

Oh and Mard, there is no way Dave is broke dude, use your head man, he makes money every year from VH catalog sales, T-shirt sales, solo sales, and from publishing too....never mind touring, his book, etc etc, and whatever investments the man has....and properties he owns, I am sure DLR is quite the wealthy man...Imean he has about 45 million in Recording sales under hi belt, sold millions of t-shirts, posters, accessories in the past, and all of the touring over the years....

    dude come on, think

also the damn space bar on this pc sucks ass!!!

Well, again, I doubt this tour will happen, but anything is possible.

And again, Journey, Sammy and the Waborita's, and DLR could cancel their tours to do this and/or combine them all into another MoR type thing or festival or whatever... What I'm saying is you never know. Most likely (again if it does happen) they can do both. Dates that are setup are early and freeing up June, July, and August to do it.

As far as DLR being broke, he himself said he left VH with basically the shirt on his back so the only money he gets from VH is from the songs he has written, which may not be alot. Van Halen early contract weren't very good.

Plus it's not to hard to spend more than you make...

I'll vote Republican before Dave would open for Sammy or Neal Schon, let alone both.

Well FORD you might wanna get your G.O.P. ticket ready!

The dj just got off the phone with Tony from the Inside mag. Tony said all his sources say that this going to happen.

That Sammy and Dave met and have put all their differces behind them. That Mike is definatly touring with Sammy this summer. What they want to do is gear all this up and with the whole Planet Us, DLR and tour until next year and ride this show into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. That they want to go into the Hall together.

If I hear more, I'll let you know!
